On Sunday October 5 ,2014 the 47 edition of the Bonaire Regatta

Bonaire present at the Annual World Routes Conference
The Annual World Routes Conference which took place on September 20th thru 23rd in Chicago, Illinois
was a very productive event for Bonaire!
The Bonaire delegation was headed by Commissioner of Tourism Edsel Winklaar, TCB Director of
Tourism Ethsel Pieternella, and Candice Adams Kimmel, the TCB Representative in North America. The
delegation held substantive discussions with the largest number of registered carriers ever accepting
Bonaire’s request for a meeting.
The meetings were focused on the Airlines with
service to the three Bonaire source markets of
North America, Europe and Latin America, which
included AZUL, COPA, LANTAM, KLM, Delta Airlines,
United Airlines, JetBlue, American Airlines,
Southwest Airlines, WestJet and InterCaribbean Airways.
Latin American carries were provided with the South American Market Analysis from ASM Global. The
traffic and yield forecast included in the new study really got the attention of the Latin American
carriers. For the North American market, the best news was that the operation of the second Delta flight
has been confirmed through peak season next year 2015.
World Tourism Day Celebration
This year’s World Tourism Day theme was Tourism and Community Development. Tourism Corporation
Bonaire organized an appreciation day cocktail event at Fort Oranje for the private sector on September
27th, 2014.
Bonaire’s tourism development has encouraged the participation of our local community either
by employment, education, agriculture, culture, heritage or gastronomy. Bonaire’s tourism sector
contributes greatly to our economy. We have to thank all Tourism Sector Pioneers who started the
developments and envisioned a sustainable tourism island. Today Bonaire is
achieving very positive Stay-Over and Record Breaking Cruise visitor numbers.
We (at TCB) would also like to thank our whole Tourism Sector and everyone that contributes directly
and indirectly to Bonaire’s tourism development. Each one of you are enhancing and contributing to
Bonaire’s tourism development and its future. We appreciate everything that you do.
TCB would also like to thank the Bonaire Culinary Team that did a great catering job.
Bonaire 47th Regatta program October 5-11, 2014
On Sunday October 5th,2014 the 47th edition of the Bonaire Regatta initiated. It will be a week
filled with sailing activities, combined with the Regatta on land festivities. The festival program
