Respectfully referred to as “Da Reggae Don”,
DJ Norie was born and raised in Brooklyn’s East
Flatbush Area. Unlike his Panamanian namesake,
General Manuel Noriega, music is Norie’s weaponry
of choice and his mixing skills along with his energy
on the microphone transform his musical selections
into formidable artillery.
Norie’s expertise in selecting Dancehall also
resonated with mainstream music lovers, and led to
his own Sunday night radio show on Clear Channel’s
Power 105.1 (NYC), also syndicated on iHeart Radio.
His Anything Goes – Caribbean Edition radio show,
has contributed to his enviable status as America’s
most influential radio personality for reggae music.
As such, Norie is usually the first to transform a core
reggae anthem into an international hit, which he
did with Stephen and Damian Marley’s single
“Jah Army”, featuring Buju Banton.
Concerts
Anything Goes Live first launched in
March 2009, to celebrate DJ Norie’s 1st
year on the radio. It has since grown into a
bi-annual concert-series, seeing crowds
from 1,500 to over 6,000 guests each
show.
Anything Goes Live is one of the BEST
Caribbean concert series in New York City,
headlined by the most influential
Caribbean artists in the world (The
Marleys, Shaggy, Beenie Man etc.).
