Take a musical journey through the past and present – choral masterpieces, favorite folksongs, traditional spirituals, and Americana – all paired with the immortal words of Mark Twain. This activity is also funded by a grant from the Dawson Community Foundation, a component fund of the Southwest Initiative Foundation. Event Sponsors: AGP Thrivent Financial – James Heinrich C omedian Roger Radley has been performing comedy from coast to coast for twenty-five years and along the way he has shared the stage with the likes of Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, George Carlin, B.B. King, Waylon Jennings, and Paula Poundstone. He won two national talent contests and has been featured on NPR, A&E and Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend.” His humor draws upon the values and experiences of a farm boy growing up in Wisconsin. Roger likes to think of himself as the “Funniest Former Farmer” in the United States. In their new show, Bart and Ross emphasize their rural, small-town roots and Scandinavian heritage. Bart’s original, award-winning poems blended with Ross’ arrangements of folk music evoke the landscape, critters, and quirky characters of rural Minnesota, spanning the human experience, from comedy to tragedy. In its nearly 25-year history, the band has presented an impressive repertoire including commissioned work and traditional brass band literature. The band has toured the United Kingdom twice and was the first American brass band to perform at the Sandringham Flow Show in King’s Lynn, England. It’s “Ole & Lena’s Wedding,” written and produced by Change of Pace Productions. New cast, new jokes, and a ton of fun! As friends of Ole Olaf Olafsson Jr. and Lena Arlene Handspringinnen, you are invited to attend their authentic, hilarious northwoods wedding. A befuddled Lutheran pastor presides over the ceremony, while accordion-playing Pantsloff is not quite willing to let go of the torch he bears for Lena. There’s a slide show of the couple’s growing-up years, and name tags for the audience so you’ll know how you’re related. Plus, you’re invited to stay for punch and cake after the wedding!
