December 06 & January 07 EAC XMAS BRUNCH XMAS Brunch @ Cafe Aqua was our end of year get together for this year. Thank you to all those families who came out it was great to see so many faces. We had a wonderful morning of socializing and talked about things other than swimming well most of the time anyway. Our club is certainly friendly which is what makes our club unique. All the wonderful characters which make our days eventful. Winner of the cap competition was Mary Masters entry, it was the white cap with the diving swimmer. Well done to all of those who put in an entry. All entries were of a high standard. We had around 55 people @ the breakfast which was great and we had to expand our little outside area to accommodate the extra’s. The morning was enjoyed by all, large amounts of food were consumed by our little vacuum's. which saved our refrigerators for the morning. Thank you to Meredith for the Xmas Crackers and to Sally for her table decorations. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Prosperous New Year. MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR BENDIGO BANK PROUD SPONSORS OF EAC Page 2 ~~~SPLASH~~~ G’day and welcome to another issue of Splash. What a busy month we have had. With Bendigo signing, Eliah’s interview , our Come & Try Carnival, all our Xmas activities and that’s just swimming, that doesn’t include all those horrid school functions we have to endure, but we love it really .. Don’t we??? I’ll get back to you on that one. The club has certainly moved forward this year in lots of ways. We are going to have a short break @ xmas but don’t get too comfy, cos before you know it, it will all start all over again. Good luck to all those swimmers venturing over to Victorian States in early January. Hopefully all the swimmers gain from your experiences. This edition will cover December and January as the holidays are a time of rest for my weary little fingers, but you will be kept informed. This issue we meet Josh Palmer & Cameron Poppelwell, we have a couple of stories and experiences from a couple of our swimmers and catch up on a few things that have happened this last month. But also look forward into some important dates for next year like Club Night Dates for February so you will be ready. So put your feet up and grab that Chrissie drink and enjoy your read. You’ll never find time for anything! You must make it! I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our parent helpers this past year, and wish each and everyone @ EAC a Safe Christmas and a Prosperous 2007. Merry Christmas all and I look forward to keeping you all informed for a while next year. ~~~Joanne Richardson~~~ Club night 17th November , we all had a great night we ate lots of pancakes and had lots of swims. Club night is proving popular with the swimmers as a time to relax and socialize, with a bit of rivalry in the pool. Nick and John were pleasant surprises and proved that even though they haven't swum for a while that they still have what it takes. They didn’t lose their competitive streak either. Now that Nathan Hewitt is helping out in the coaching on Saturdays the whole family is back at the club. Bruce & Vanessa Hewitt . Swimmer of the month for November This months winner is Cameron Poppelwell. Cameron won his first medal, and swam with excellence @ the Unley Carnival. His commitment @ training and @ meets is rewarded this month. … well done Cameron. Our achievement awards went to Benjamin Tran and Samuel Schaaf. Both in the Junior squad Benjamin came to us as one of the Disabled swimmers who has shown considerable improvement since joining our club. Samuel has shown maturity and commitment in the last few months. Well done to November winners. ~~~Splash~~~ Page 3 IT”S CLOSING TIME Closing date for February magazine is the 1st February.
