Since its creation in 1996, Buddha-Bar Paris has been the precursor to a true lifestyle
concept, with confluent influences from the Pacific Rim.
This Lounge-Restaurant, located on the ultra-chic Faubourg St Honoré, was created
thanks to the visionary imagination of its founder Raymond V isan, owner of the famous
Barfly in Paris. On a constant quest for new ideas gathered during his numerous trips,
particularly to Califor nia, Mr. V isan launched the Buddha-Bar that rapidly became a
must see in the French capital.
For over 15 years, the Buddha-Bar concept has continued to grow and spread its
positive energy throughout the world, with restaurants, hotels, spas, beauty care lines,
music… today, it is found in 25 countries and tomorrow... many more.
Buddha-Bar cultivates its concept with its Parisian and inter national clientele, by
providing much more than an invitation to travel to distant lands, through its exotic
cuisine from around the world… It offers a fully original experience.

W ith its cinema-style décor, covering an over 1,000 square meter surface area, the
Buddha-Bar boasts majestic proportions, with three levels built around a monumental
Buddha, over 4 meters high.
Between the « boutique-reception area » on the ground floor and the immense restaurant
located below, alcove lounges are found on the mezzanine surrounding the main dining
area. The mezzanine has a lavishly statuesque bar sculpted in the form of a dragon with
red scales and green jade and offers strategically cozy spots, where you may enjoy a
privileged moment of relaxation by candlelight, unobserved by others.
Gigantic arabesque chandeliers in red velvet embroidered with golden thread are
suspended above the gold restaurant with its round tables and red lounge, both warm
and discreet for a fully enjoyable dining experience.
The elegant décor, in noble materials such as mahogany, displays silky woven lacquered
fur niture and Portuguese mosaics, created using ancestral hot foil stamping techniques,
sculpted wood, bright mural paintings and beautifully positioned rare collection pieces
that were carefully chosen from faraway countries in Asia, particularly China and Japan.
The harmonious red and yellow ochre on the patina walls and the gold leaf showcasing
the Buddha come together to create an elegantly refined décor.
The warm Pacific atmosphere and friendly, attentive waiting staff help establish a
highly relaxing ambiance, which is subtly enhanced by the music carefully selected
by resident DJ Ravin (a leading reference in Buddha-Bar throughout the world and
musical compilations). This signature music boasts electro-style beats combined with
ethnic and tribal sounds from distant lands.
Here, you are suspended in time and carried away to faraway lands… Breathe in
deeply…. You are at BUDDHA-BAR.

The creative Pacific Rim cuisine with Asian, Hawaiian and Califor nian influences
combines fresh products, different cooking methods, a subtle blend of spices and
exotic flavors, and an enjoyable tasting principle, based on abundance and sharing.
Created by Eric Rousselières, executive chef since 2000 at Buddha-Bar Paris and
25 other worldwide establishments owned by the group, the menu is slightly modified
in the fall and spring. Between tradition and moder nity, the chef adds a unique and
original touch to his culinary palette by reinventing certain classic dishes.
The menu offers «signature» dishes such as the Buddha-Bar Chicken Salad, Spicy
Tuna tartare, Roasted black cod with Miso and Yuzu sauce, Peking duck with candied
fruit and even Traditional New York style cheesecake with seasonal red fruit, beautifully
reinvented thanks to light and moder n influences. These include the Green papaya
and mango Thai salad, Seared foie gras with Pondicher y pepper, Fresh litchi salad as
well as Tandoori ginger lamb chops, seasonal vegetables and to finish on a high note,
Chilled Mango Soup…
Not to mention some of the essential signature creations by Master Sushi Chef Massato
Nakabayashi: Sushi, Sashimi and Rolls as well as his famous Califor nia rolls, served
with a spicy mango sauce.
For lunch, let yourself be tempted by the «Bento» menu, the «Tasting» menu and the
large «tempura» platters that will tur n an urban lunch and its time constraints into an
exotic experience.
To accompany this tasty jubilee, fine wines, Champagne, Soshu and sake will be carefully
suggested by the wine waiter from a menu of over 200 classic choices, including
exceptional wines from around the world.

Located on the mezzanine, the Gallery, which surrounds the entire dining room, offers
a bar and small, comfortable and warm alcoves. For pre-dinner or after dinner drinks,
enjoy the delicious cocktails created by Matthias Giroud, executive chef barman for all
Buddha-Bar and their teams (awarded numerous prizes).
From the most classic to the most inventive, our cocktails are made with products that
come from the 4 cor ners of the world, in line with the latest inter national trends: Tikky
Style - World BB cocktails créations - Voyage en Asie - So Fresh - So Japan… Not to
mention the delicious alcohol-free mocktails made with fresh fruit, 100% organic floral
water, vegetables…
As of 6 p.m. and all evening long, the bar offers a menu of delectable selections,
including «Tapasian», a dual and harmonious combination, with a duo of cocktails,
delightfully savory appetizers… to be shared with friends.
Much more than a simple bar, as of September 2012, the Gallery will offer cultural,
musical and artistic events in its warm, elegant and friendly atmosphere.
Weekly events will be organized, including artistic photo exhibits, newly published
literary works, musical performances and many other surprises…

Upon the restaurant’s opening and encouraged by Claude Challe, who was the resident
musical designer, the Buddha-Bar’s mellow musical identity took on an innovative and
avant-garde aspect, thanks to the subtle mixture of electro-style rhythms and ethnic
and tribal sounds, developed by the maestro.
Created to enhance the restaurant’s atmosphere, this spicy and distinctly creative
musical style enchanted both the Parisian and inter national clientele, who asked Claude
Challe to produce the first Buddha-Bar compilation.
However, this was only the beginning of a great adventure… The George V Record label
was created in 2000, spurred by Raymond V isan. This led to the successive release
of 14 compilations, in collaboration with numerous artists. These include Ravin, the
current resident DJ, boosting his renown in the music world and with the inter national
public, thanks to his constant artistic quest for high quality sounds and rhythms.
Today, the label is already being asked by prestigious brands, such as L’Oréal, Salvatore
Ferragamo and even Cartier, to create albums specifically for them. It represents a
real underlying trend in the global marketing concept, in which George V Records, as
a precursor, intends to remain leader in the industry.
