July Parades
July 4, Seward - Leave Belmont parking lot, 11th &
Cornhusker, at 8 am for car show. If not going with
the club, plan on arriving in Seward by 9:15 am.
Note ~ Our club has paid the registration for the car
show. Parade starts at 4 pm.
July 23, Ashland - Stir-up Days, Leave at 8 am from
Orschlens, 5640 Cornhusker Hwy. After the parade
is over, we will head back to Lincoln for the car
display at Legacy Terrace.
Breakfast at HyVee
Don’t forget about the first Tuesday of the
month breakfast at the HyVee, 70th & Pioneers
Blvd. Arrive around 9 am.
DINNER TOURS
The July 28th tour will be at Las Margaritas, 2700 Jamie Ln
(near 27 & Yankee Hill Rd). Meet at 5 pm. In August we will
dine at Valentino’s.

2016 MAFCA National Convention - Loveland, CO
Glenn & Margaret Manske and Dean & Margaret Mays were among the 550+ registration at this years
convention. The weeks activities started with the Welcome Party Monday evening. Pre-party activity
included a Meet & Greet “A” Fair in which members enjoyed nostalgic music, carnival games and prizes, face
painting and a photo booth. After a BBQ buffet dinner, entertainment, in which Model A members
preformed, was Jim Spawns first ever ‘Original Amateur Hour’. Tuesday was the first of two driving tours,
Titled “The Masonville Loop Guided Tour”. Despite being called a guided tour, after about 15 miles or so
into the tour, our guides motioned us to go around them and were never seen again. Our group of 15 was
then forced to follow the directions provided. All went well until we came to a fork in the road and no one
in the group could figure out which way to go. Luckily, a local in a truck stopped and asked if we needed
help. After telling him were weren’t sure which road to take, he told us that about 15 minutes ago he meet
a group of Model A’s and pointed to which road they were on. Hallelujah…. So it was back on the road
again. The remainder of the trip was uneventful. But where were our leaders??? We never did see then
again. Maybe they’re lost in the mountains! The second driving tour was on Thursday. The Grand Tour was
diving on the Peal-to-Peak Highway with lunch in Estes Park. The drive back to Loveland was through Big
Thompson Canyon with its tumbling river running along the side the road. Friday was the Awards Banquet.
Results were announced. Glenn & Margaret received a silver award in the Restorers Class. Congratulations.
There were other events attended including seminars, a fashion show & tea, silent movie night featuring
“Tumbleweed”, self tour’s to Greely’s Model Railroad Museum, Terry Bison Ranch in Wyoming, Loveland’s
Benson Sculpture Garden, and Rocky Mountain’s Trail Ridge Road. It’s not too early to start planning on
attending the next National Convention. It will be June 24-29, 2018 in Sparks-Reno, Nevada.
