Thanks to the individually spring loaded sharpening sliders, the knife edge will always have full contact with the polishing and grinding surfaces – in all directions of movement. Each surface is also individually movable in its own groove, optimizing the contact area and, thanks to this, the sharpening result. The knife edge is pushed down through the X-formed sharpening sliders in a forward motion (45°), making the sliders go from the X-shape to a V-shape. This sawing motion is needed when sharpening your knives with the EDGE FIX knife sharpener, and should be used throughout the entire length of the knife blade.
