Greetings,
It's mid-October and the pattern of the academic schedule is
well-in-place, and - believe it or not - the holidays are in front of us:
Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. No doubt you are deep-inthe-throes of the ongoing performance preparation journey, and be
aware we are here to serve you, support you, and contribute to your
program in any fashion we can. Do take advantage of the special
partnership you have with Conn-Selmer as one of the select VIP
delegates.

and your entire community. YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE. YOU
have dedicated your professional life to music education because of
a music teacher who MADE A DIFFERENCE in your life…the legacy
continues. It's all evidence your contribution to the positive growth
and development of your students is beyond measure. We applaud
YOU and we recognize YOU for your priceless commitment and
dedication to EXCELLENCE. Thank you for being one of our

How To Use This Tempo Chart
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
Using a metronome, establish your ERROR-FREE TEMPO. “ERROR-FREE” is defined as a minimum of
TWO CONSECUTIVE PERFORMANCES of the given excerpt with a metronome and without a single
error. This includes all articulations, style and phrase markings, dynamics, and evenness of technique.
Increase the tempo in 2-beat increments until you reach the point when errors appear.
Record the DATE to the right of the excerpt’s measure numbers and beneath the number that corresponds
to your error-free tempo.
If there are no measure number ranges listed it means there are no further excerpts for you at that tempo.
You do not have to fill in the box beneath each tempo marking. You may find that you can increase your
tempos by several beats in one day.
It will become more and more difficult to increase your tempos. Start NOW, and use the strategies modeled
by your directors and private teachers.
Be honest with yourself! You will be asked to demonstrate your highest error-free tempo on demand!
