Big Thought and its community partners in Dallas, Texas have invested in a sustained
citywide partnership designed to translate the fundamental human capacity
for imagination into realized forms of creativity.

Thriving Minds, a program of Big Thought in Dallas, Texas is focused on
expanding out-of-school time opportunities across the city with a strong focus on
the arts.

Features hip-hop dance, ballet, visual art, cooking, chess and other creative classes
taught by professional teaching artists from throughout the community.
Thriving Minds operates year-round enrichment programs at 21 Dallas ISD
campuses funded by 21st Century Learning Center grant from Texas Education
Agency. These free enrichment programs are open to Dallas ISD elementary and
middle school students.

• Oklahoma A+ Schools® is a statewide network of 60
schools with a mission to nurture creativity in every learner.
The goal is to develop schools that are highly engaged in the
A+ process, including arts integration and multiple
intelligences differentiated instruction.

• Investing in Innovation - i3 Fund supports the development of pathbreaking new ideas, the validation of approaches that have
demonstrated promise, and the scale-up of the nation's most successful

• All 49 winning i3 proposals were selected from among nearly 1,700
applicants for potential funding from $650 million i3 program and
represented a cross-section of school districts and nonprofit
education organizations, including institutions of higher
education. All secured required 20 percent private-sector matching
funds.

very important skills to have in their employees; less than 50%
of business executives surveyed believe schools were doing
