EAGLES FACTS
GAME NOTES
- Mackenzie Burke continues to inch closer to the all-time
service aces record for Asbury. Last night against IUSoutheast she collected two service aces to bring her total
to 206. It is now just four aces shy of tying the all time
record set by Tami Ankeny ‘01.
- Contrary to the norm, Burke collected zero service aces
against the Mountaineers last week.
- Freshmen Lexi Saddler and Rachel Boesing are quietly
having stellar first years with the Eagles’ program. Saddler
and Boesing have combined for 108 kills and 71 blocks on
the season. Boesing actually leads the team in total blocks
with 42.
- The Eagles are looking to win their 10th match in a row.
- These two teams met last week in Berea and Asbury
escaped with two first set wins before running off with the
third set in a 3-0 sweep of their hosts.
- The all-time series between these two teams includes a
substantial history and currently sits greatly in Asbury’s
favor. The Eagles are 61-5 against Berea all-time including
a current win-streak of 17 games dating back to the 2002
season.
- In the 2001 season Berea experienced a bit of success
against the Eagles as they swept the season series of two
games and ousted the Eagles from the KIAC tournament.
- Asbury has had three contests since meeting up with
Berea last week, while Berea is playing back-to-back games
against the Eagles.
