MISSING IN NORTH AFRICA
W. Luttrell (TennesQ. Lieutenant
see '41), a star football player of yesteryear
for the Volunteers, is reported by the War
Department as missing in action in North
Africa. His many Fiji friends hope that
"Timber," being a resourceful fellow, will
eventually turn up.
Some of those rescued were in bad
physical condition, but Major Seasholes appeared to be healthy. His family in the States has deduced that Craig
was forced down in a tropical storm
while making an air journey.

WINS NAVY'S SILVER STAR
C. The "cool courage and conscientious
devotion to duty" of Lieutenant Frederic S.
Fink, Jr. (Ohio Wesleyan '41) was recognized by the United States Navy in bestowing upon him a Silver Star. He commanded
the armed guard on the S. S. Eldena on a
hazardous, submarine-attack voyage.
He was one of the 19 young Americans who recently transferred from the
R. A. F. and R. C. A. F. to the United
States Navy for flight duty.
After reporting at Jacksonville, Fla.,
for indoctrination and a refresher
course, he looked forward eagerly to a
two weeks' leave.
On the eve of his departure, he
caught his foot on the top of a blackout flight of steps, fell and shattered
a leg in three places.
