and one lucky designer will win a Thomas Pheasant Cleo
Bench! The first 30 designers to arrive and join their
Designer Dividends loyalty program will receive a gift bag.
A confident use of pattern and colour can be seen in Soane
Britain’s new fabrics and wallpapers. An intriguing antique
kimono featuring an Indian design is the inspiration behind
Elephant Temple – a bold fantastical pattern on linen – while
a 1930s print scarf has led to the design of Bergamot Leaf,
found on both fabric and wallpaper. These are joined by
the addition of new colourways to Soane’s best-selling fabric
collections. Step into the world of Soane at their open
house to view and feel these exquisite fabrics for yourself.

There’s a reason you became a designer and it had nothing
to do with lawyers and contracts. This presentation, delivered
by a lawyer who understands the design industry, is for
designers with little or no experience drafting or negotiating
contracts, provides a basic client contract and breaks it
down section by section so that attendees understand each
provision, why it’s important, and how it can protect them.

From furniture to floor tile, designers are taking steps to protect
original work. Designers, manufacturers and employees need
to know the steps to take to protect their designs, businesses,
and profits. As interior designers develop signature styles and
product lines, protecting original design is increasingly important.
The discussion will address the line between inspiration and
replication and issues related to protecting original designs
On the occasion of their 80th anniversary, Pierre Frey
introduces Pierre Frey, Inspiring Interiors – the first book
ever published about the fabric and wallpaper design and
manufacturing company. Magnificent images in the 240
page book tell the story of the Maison, from its beginnings
in 1935 to the present day. “We didn’t want this to be just
another interior design book… we wanted it to be a vibrant
portrait of our family, our expertise, and our customers”,
says Patrick Frey. Reception and book signing to follow.
