April Meeting Adult Groups A BIG “Thank-You!!!” to everyone who came out to La Getting Kicks Out of Karate Hacienda Ranch on April 2nd for our 2011 Round Up Dinner Spring Fling Egg Hunt and Silent Auction. The auction was a huge success raising Fruit & Veggie Coop over $4,500 !!! Girls on the Run Service Coppell Valley Ranch Early Childhood PTA will now be able Project to give a very generous donation to Operation School Bell a Summer Camps philanthropic program of the Assistance League of Coppell. Fun in March Last year the Assistance League provided school clothes to New Babies over 265 needy children in 18 local schools in our area. Mark Your Calendar Those that attended the auction feasted on a wonderful bufApril Birthdays fet, decorated beautiful cupcakes at our cupcake bar, enjoyed C/VR ECPTA Contacts entertainment by the magical Mr. David, made western crafts Round Up 2011! at our craft table and enjoyed our fabulous balloon artist. Members and guests went home with spectacular items from our Silent Auction tables. Special thanks to all of the following who made this event such a success. (continued from page 1) Our SUPER Silent Auction committee members (Wednesday Foster, Stephanie Locascio, Nancy Maurer, Deby Osmond, and Caroline Parra) these ladies worked for many, many weeks collecting numerous donations for our auction. Another special thanks to our ECPTA member donors (Christy Ramirez, Renee Gill, Kalli Barker, Courtney Christensen, Nicole Frieder, Tara Williford, Caroline Parra, Courtney Edwards, Katie Theaux, and all our playgroup Moms, whose creative baskets are always a big hit!!) these ladies donated items and services to our auction to make it even bigger and better this year. Thanks also to Cathy Blazek who put together all of the children’s activities, food and entertainment at the Round Up….Great Job Cathy!!! Another big thanks to our super cupcake bakers Julie Seedig and Patty Holvick (my Mom) the kids loved those tasty treats. Lastly, thanks to all our attendees who are such wonderful supporters of the ECPTA and all our local businesses who donated so generously... Be sure to check out page 9 and/or website and please patronize these businesses as much as possible….See you all next year for an even bigger and better Round Up!!! Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a non-profit organization and they count on their volunteers to make a difference in our community! GOTR provides 10 week character building training programs all over the nation for pre-adolescent girls. Throughout the 10 weeks the girls train for a 5K while learning about physical health, nutrition, spirituality, teamwork, and community involvement. The program concludes with a 5K race event which gives the girls a chance to shine and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. We do ask that all participants provide 1 dozen eggs per child attending filled with age-appropriate goodies. Eggs should be dropped off by Friday, April 15th at either Cathy Blazek's house (321 N Heartz Rd) or Stephanie LoCascio's (529 Archer Drive). Children will be grouped by age. Under 3 must be accompanied by an adult. Getting Kicks Out of Karate We had a blast at Coppell Taekwondo in March! They gave our group a 30 minute session that included kicking, running, jumping, crawling and rolling.
