HISTORY
Formed in 1948, Panaracer began manufacturing rubber products for a variety of commercial and consumer applications. In
1978 we began to exclusively produce bicycle tires so we could
carefully focus on producing the finest tires available today. Panaracer is the last Japanese manufacturer still producing bicycle
tires in Japan. We feel that maintaining our domestic production
insures that our quality control remains at the highest levels.
On staff we have seven full time R&D engineers constantly
researching compounds, tread patterns and casing technologies.
Additionally, there is a emphasis on cutting-edge CAD tread and
profile development. This advanced first stage of tire development allows us to quickly advance new tire designs and product
development. We are also constantly upgrading our molds and
bladders, both important tools for producing reliable cutting-edge
rubber products.
2009 was a fantastically successful year for Panaracer and
2010 will be no exception. You’ve come to expect the highest
levels of quality and performance from us and that is the
foundation on which we offer the 2010 line to you.
At the forefront of our development is continuing improvements in our proprietary technologies. New for this year is
PT (Puncture Technology) which is the logical progression of
our revolutionary puncture resistant material introduced last
year. PT technology offers unheard of puncture resistance
without any weight penalty of heavier, puncture resistant tires.
Our PT enabled tires offer up to a 3x strength to weight
advantage over almost any other tire in their class. No other
tire company can touch this.
On the road side the news is that we’ve started to
incorporate our groundbreaking PT tire puncture resisting
technology further into the line. For 2009, PT finds its way
into the T-serv, the new Extreme Evo3 PT and Duro PT.
Additional new road tire additions to the line are as follows;
Closer, a new training and sport clincher, Extreme Jet, a “pro
peloton” quality racing tubular.
Big changes are happening on the MTB side. Late in 2009
we announced our partnership with Cedric Gracia, World Jr.
Downhill Champion and all around unreal rider. We’re proud to
introduce the first new models in the CG range. 2010 will
begin with a new 2.1 and a 2.35 tire from the CG line. The
2.1 is an aggressive XC tread that also excels on the short
track while the 2.35 kicks all day riding butt while pulling off
light DH duty like no other tire on the market. Both tires will
come with standard compounds and special sticky, antirebound compounds for all kinds of riding conditions.
One note: Panaracer is the last remaining Japanese bicycle
tire manufacturer. We make over 90 percent of all our
tires in our Japanese factory. This insures that our quality
is consistent and that any new R&D developments are hand
delivered straight from the lab to the factory floor. This
guarantees that you, the most valuable component of all, can
buy the highest quality product that money can buy. Look

performance that they are still in production today due to their
continued popular demand and their trend setting performance.
Looking forward, Panaracer is moving torwards a greener
future. Without a doubt, the a bicycle is a very green mode
of transportation, but more can be done on the manufacturing
site to reduce production emitions, power consumption and byproduct disposal and recycling. Improvements in all these areas
are happening at Panaracer.
Last but not least, Panaracer is certified ISO 14001 and ISO
9001.
For the tire production itself, we use only the finest hand-picked
raw materials to create our casings and compounds. When
those material choices are combined with our patented technologies, the end result is the finest tires that you can mount on a
pair of wheels.
In the 28 plus years of exclusively focusing on bicycle tire design, we’ve created some of the most ground-breaking tires ever

ZSG Ultima provides incredible grip in wet or dry road conditions and superior handling performance. ZSG Ultima will
wear at least 10 percent longer than a regular compound
without sacrificing any performance loss.
BAXtechnology uses extremely narrow 0.14diameter cord
which is weaved at a super high density into the casing
for lightness and flexibility. This increased density improves
resistance to cuts and abrasions.
ZSG Natural formula integrates more natural rubber into
the compound. This compound has the same low rolling
resistance as the premium compound. Its enhanced wear
resistance makes it perfect for a long lasting training tire
with an excellent ride.
800Dpolyamide cord is nearly twice as strong as the cord
used in conventional tires. It improves rigidity, pinch flat and
side cut protection. This casing reinforcement helps protect
the tube from punctures.
Dual is our newest compound. Sticky for the turns and
harder in the center. You’ll find it on the tires used in the
grand tours, classics and pro tour events. Dual Compound
delivers the best of both worlds in tire performance.
ZSG Active Compound is very sticky and at the same time
quite flexible, hence the name. Compared to other ZSG
compounds, Active is a softer compound, but still very
durable. Extreme and aggressive riding is its forte.
Adding silica compounds to tire treads vastly improves tire
life, durability and grip. Depending on the use of the tire,
varying amounts of Silica are added to balance tire wear
and performance.
We use this proprietary compound in our butyl tubes to
enhance butyl’s natural benefits. The result is a tube that
has the best balance of weight to strength while providing
an exceptional road feel.
Long wearing compound. More durable than our other
compounds yet without the harsh ride of other competitor’s
hard compounds, Mile cruncher will roll the miles beneath
you as you enjoy the ride.
Special compound developed for tubulars and pro racers.
Dual Compound is similar to ZSG Dual in concept. Harder
in the center for wear and efficiency and grippier on the
sides. Keeps you upright and fast!
400DCord technology increases side-cut resistance of
our tires while improving the rigidity during cornering. This
casing reinforcement helps protect the tube from punctures
without adding weight to the tire.

Asuper-supple proprietary casing. This incredibly strong
casing is layered in a 3-Dimensional configuration to provide
great road feel while protecting you from objects that may
cut your tires. Tough and lightweight compared to other
protective casings on the market. An excellent for tire for
training or racing bicycles.
This is a lighter and stronger tire casing. The density of
the fiber is 1.5times more than normal tire casings. Pinch
flat protection is 1.6times improved and side cut protection
is 2.6times more improved than any other casing in its
category. The surface of the casing is very smooth which
helps prevent punctures if the tube rubs against the casing
while cycling.
Kevlar®is woven into the casing fabric every 5threads.
The addition of the extremely robust Kevlar thread
reinforces the casing against side wall punctures while
keeping the weight down due to the weight advantage of the
Kevlar thread.

Tourguard is an Aramid fiber belt placed under the tread to
improve puncture resistance without increasing tire weight
or sacrificing performance. Excellent for touring or urban
cycling and commuting.

its puncture resistance capabilities. Extra puncture proof

The Universal Tubeless System was developed by Mavic.
USTallows you to run tubeless tires at a lower pressure

eliminated and ride quality is vastly improved.

Reflective Tape upgrade is a reflective stripe that is applied
to the sidewall of the tire to make cyclists more visible
from the side while cycling at dusk or night. This upgrade
is available on Stradius Sport SR, Crosstown, and Evo
series tires.
RIBMO PT
RiBMo is the newest addition to our urban tire line. Aside
from a plethora of sizes, the news on RiBMo is PT puncture

The CGXC 2.1 is as at home on a 4x track as it is on twisty turns of
a singletrack trail. Following the tradition of other timeless Panaracer
tires, the CGXC 2.1 can be used front or rear, and as an all purpose
tire. Initially available in two compounds, a standard, all purpose version and a new, proprietary softer compound for 4x and short track
racing in special conditions. The CGXC 2.1 is the new standard for
2.1 tires.

PolyLite rim tape is a thin tough shield to protect your tube from the
rim and spoke nipples. Road and Mountain rim width sizes available.

The Flataway tire liner is a lightweight strip of Aramid fiber that
protects against external punctures. It is excellent for touring or
urban applications. Place it between your casing and your tube and
