Overlooking Bay Lake and bringing the north woods indoors, Ruby’s is
a wonderful spot to treat your conference guests with delightful meals.
Our Executive Chef, Terry Dox, provides a wide array of tempting favorites: buffet or menu service. Our helpful staff, the wonderful view,
and the atmosphere of a turn-of-the-century log lodge make dining at
Ruby's a one-of-a-kind experience. Please let your conference planner

Bear Pine Bar
The Bear Pine Bar is our casual lake-front setting for cocktails and
lighter fare. Featuring indoor and outdoor deck dining, the atmosphere
is casual and family friendly.
Enjoy cocktails, burgers, sandwiches and hors d' oeuvres. The Bear
Pine Bar is a nice place to relax and reconnect after a long day of
meetings.
Zig’s
Enjoy lunch, dinner and a great view of the 18th green and Bass Lake
whether you are seated inside or on the deck. We offer casual dining
with a full bar and menu.
Join us for Happy Hour from 3:00 - 5:00pm.

Planned Group Activities
Our conference planners can arrange a golf tournament, private banquet or outdoor
barbecue, bonfire and sing-along, pontoon cruises, team building exercises, tours of our
gardens and grounds, fishing, water-skiing, canoeing, wine or beer tasting, cooking
classes, and more. Off-site activities available include a fishing launch on Lake Mille
Lacs, high-ropes course, casino trip, boat tours or biking in the Cuyuna Country State
Recreation Area, and shuttles to many of our other local area sites.
Team Building
Specially designed team building programs are available for your group on- and off-site.
These activities can be scheduled for 15 minutes or four hours and can range from icebreaker activities to complete team-building events.
Golf
PGA Professionals and staff provide a wide variety of golf services, including lessons and
tournaments for your group. The Lakes 18-hole Championship Course is surrounded by
spectacular beauty. A par 72, natural hazards abound as the placid waters of Goose and
Bass Lakes come into play on 10 holes. Each hole is strategically designed by Joel Goldstrand to challenge and satisfy golfers of every level. Alec’s Nine is our sporty 9-hole
course. Opened in 1921, it is one of the first resort golf courses in the state and is a fun
play with the first green right across the street from the main lodge.
Marina
Our marina is equipped with canoes, fishing boats with 8hp outboard motors, pontoon
boats, rowboats, sailboats, ski boats, hydrobikes, Aqua Jump, paddleboats, and windsurfers. Staff drivers are available for pontoon rides and for water-skiing. Water-skis,
kneeboards, fishing rods, and reels can be rented at the marina. Fishing licenses are
available at the Lobby Shop. Off-site fishing on Lake Mille Lacs, fishing tournaments and
fishing with a local guide service can also be arranged.
Recreation
We offer recreation for all types of relaxation. These include basketball, bicycling, a game
room, horseshoes, bocce ball, indoor and outdoor pools, playground, sandy beach,
sauna, tennis (two omni turf and two laykold), tennis practice wall, volleyball, walking/
jogging trail, water volleyball, exercise room, and whirlpools. Please note that some of
these activities are offered on a seasonal basis.
Entertainment
Your Conference Planner keeps a listing of pianists, speakers, DJ services, musical
groups, magicians, comedians, jugglers, ventriloquists, guitarists, and other entertainers.
15% handling fee.
Kids’ Kamp
Kids’ Kamp is available for children ages 4 – 12 mid-June through Labor Day Weekend.
Throughout the week, Kids’ Kamp participants enjoy many outdoor activities such as
swimming, boating, island excursions, fishing, and outdoor games, and they may take a
nature hike in the woods with a naturalist. Indoor activities include games, stories, music
fun, and many different kinds of crafts.

Your group can benefit from a large variety of team building, ice-breaking and/or activities choreographed by you and our staff, as well as off-site. All games and activities are
fully customizable and available to fill a 20-minute introduction or a full day of productive
fun. We offer both physical and intellectual options. A variety of exercises can be prearranged for:
Building teams or welcoming new members to your team
Recognizing individual efforts and/or team accomplishments
Finding creative ways to work together to solve problems
Increasing and improving communication within peers
Healthy competition within the group
Or, just a good old-fashioned fun time together!
Ruttger’s Staff-Lead Games & Activities
Our trained staff will facilitate many different social, ice-breaking and team-building
activities and games. Options include, but are not limited to, Family Feud, Amazing
Race, Trivia, Minute to Win it and many shorter classroom-style activities. All are fully
tailored to your needs and are a great way to build inter-personal relationships.

Entertainment Options
A variety of magicians, musicians, comedians, motivational speakers and entertainers
are available to come to Ruttger’s at the time and duration of your convenience. Raptor,
reptile and small animal presentations are unique activities that are also available.

Marina, Sports, & Recreational Activities
A variety of marina options are available right here on Bay Lake. We have canoes, kayaks, speed boats, and pontoons to rent. Staff are available to drive at an additional fee.
There are two beautiful golf courses on property that may be utilized for tournaments
and/or open play. We can also organize unique activities such as Night Glow DiscGolfing, yard games, volleyball tournaments or any creative ideas you may have!

High Ropes Course & Group Activities
Groups small and large will benefit from participating in our team building programs. We
offer a wide variety of programs and activities that foster team building and communication in a safe, yet challenging setting. We also provide low-impact activities for groups
that desire a more relaxed program with the option of being done indoors. Customized
team building programs available on request. (High ropes course 1 mile from Ruttger’s.)

Launch Fishing Excursions
Your group can head out on a large fishing boat for a customizable fishing excursion on
Lake Mille Lacs in search of Minnesota sport fish. All gear, bait and tackle is included.

The historic and unique Country Store has served the Bay Lake community since it
was built in 1906. It now boasts one of the best shopping experiences in the area with
women’s specialty clothing, home décor, unique gifts, and jewelry. While the store
originally sold groceries and feed to the area, shoppers today will find quality and
trendy options!
Pro Shop
The Pro Shop at Ruttger’s offers a full selection of men’s and women’s golf equipment
and apparel. Our golf professionals and staff are here to help! Tee times and golf

The Fine Line Hair Design Salon & Spa at Ruttger’s
An Aveda Concept Salon, the Fine Line at Ruttger’s offers massages, manicures,
pedicures, and hair services by appointment.

Ruttger's custom wearables and gifts, along with our toy store and book loft, now fill
the space at The Garage, the former gas station next to the Country Store. This fun

accommodations
Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge offers a variety of accommodations to meet your
group requests. All of our accommodations feature cable TV, air conditioning,
refrigerators. Wireless internet is available in all units except for Battle Point.
Golf Course Condos
These guest units overlook the golf course and are a short walk from the main
lodge. The lower units feature a full kitchen, fireplace, screened-in porch, separate
bedroom with king bed, and bathroom. The upper units feature a queen and double
bed, a desk, and deck.
Lodge Rooms
Lodge Rooms are connected to the main lodge and provide close access to meeting
spaces, indoor pool, and Ruby’s Dining Room. There are a variety of room layouts
and some rooms include a lofted bedroom area.
Five Pines Lodge
Five Pines rooms are newly redecorated and offer spacious first and second floor
units with king bed or two queens. Many of the lower rooms have screened porches.
Bay Lake Villas
These luxurious rooms are located on the main property just a short walk from the
lodge. The executive lower unit includes a full kitchen, dining area, fireplace, bedroom, and whirlpool tub. The upper accommodations offer beautiful views of the
resort and either one king or two queen beds, as well as private decks.
Cottages
Our seasonal cottages sit along the shores of Bay Lake near the main lodge. Each
is unique with a character all its own. Cottages are offered as studio, one-, two-, or
three-bedroom units.
Battle Point
Located one mile from the main lodge in a wooded area overlooking Bay Lake. The
one and two-bedroom units are available with a full kitchen, living room with fireplace, and a screened porch. Wireless internet access is not available at Battle
Point.
Black Bear House
Located one mile north of the main lodge, this two-level home is a great space for
executive retreats or small gatherings. It has a black bear décor and includes a full
kitchen, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, queen sofa sleeper, comfortable living area,
wet bar, game table, two decks, and a private bonfire pit.

Our conference center meeting rooms are named after historic islands and sites
on Bay Lake. Enjoy this brief tour of Bay Lake history!
Isle of Pines
It was first Ruttger Island, later Bird Island, now Isle of Pines, but everyone knows it as
Malkerson Island for the family who has owned it for many years. This is the big,
beautiful island you see from the lodge.
Bird Island
This small island was once part of the Isle of Pines. From the air, Isle of Pines resembles
a flying bird, and so for a time it was called Bird Island. When the big island changed
names the little island kept the Bird Island name, though it doesn’t look anything like a
bird.
Church Island
Original owner Adolf Lundstrom sold his island to the First Lutheran Church of St. Paul in
1926 for $1. The church has operated a camp there ever since.
Island Ballroom
Using all three Island conference rooms turns this space into our large capacity ballroom.
Archibald Point
Dave and Tillie Archibald homesteaded on Bay Lake in 1882, becoming Bay Lake’s first
European settlers. This room can be opened to connect with the Brighton Point meeting
room.
Brighton Point
Platted in 1924 as “Brighton Point on Big Bay Lake” by the Hinkle, Bronson, and Peterson families, some of whom still live on Bay Lake. This room can be opened to connect
with the Archibald Point meeting room.
Gray’s Shore Boardroom
In 1906, A.N. and Ester Gray built what would later become Ruttger’s Country Store.
Their son Gordon built his home on this shore, and the area was later named after the
family. It is interesting to note that Gray’s Bay on Lake Minnetonka was named after A.N.
Gray’s ancestor.
The Hanlon Boardroom
The Hanlon Boardroom was named after Ann (Hanlon) Ruttger, and yes, that is her childhood picture on the wall!
Echo Bay
Located on the lower level of the conference center, Echo Bay is named after the secret
spot on Bay Lake where you can hear that special loon call echo. But no worries, the
meeting room’s acoustics will work well for your meetings! No echoes!

Dinners in your FAP package include choice of one entrée, mixed green salad,

Entrée selections need to be provided seventy-two hours in advance. Surcharge of
