Mission
Philosophy
History
Maranatha is
a Christian collegepreparatory school
of the highest caliber
that develops and
supports students as
they seek and achieve
excellence in their
diverse interests and
passions.
We are a
Christ-centered,
evangelical college
preparatory school
that celebrates the
whole student by
equipping hearts
and minds to reflect
God’s glory through
academics, as well as
the arts, athletics,
and service.
A Maranatha
education aspires
to provide an
exceptional
foundation in
academic skills and
to develop in each
student an informed
and personal faith
through Biblical
literacy. Our
academic program
strives to develop
lifelong learners of
not only theoretical
abstractions but also
real life applications
of the concepts
taught in the
classroom, ensuring
that our students
are proficient in the
academic disciplines
and challenged to be
actively engaged in
their communities.
Our founders
envisioned a school
community with
its traditions and
philosophy rooted in
the historic Christian
faith. Founded in
1965, Maranatha High
School has served the
San Gabriel Valley for
over half a century.
In 2004, Maranatha
acquired its
permanent campus in
the heart of Pasadena,
California, allowing it
to broaden its reach
to include families
from the greater Los
Angeles area.
