Supporting Your Dreams Contest Kicks Off
On February 14th, 2011, Restonic started asking consumers to
describe their personal dreams. We want to know what
inspires them - and we will reward them for their creativity!
Mattress Producer Restonic
Wants to Hear About Dreams
Company launches Supporting Your Dreams Contest
David Perry -- Furniture Today, January 27, 2011
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Top 15 bedding producer Restonic is looking for some good dreams.
The producer will soon begin asking consumers to describe their dreams in a new Supporting
Your Dreams Contest. That is a natural for a company whose slogan is “Supporting Dreams,” officials said.
“Whether it is a dream for one’s future, one’s family or one’s community, Restonic wants to know what inspires our
consumers,” said CEO Ron Passaglia. “We want to know what gives our consumers hope. We also want to know what
changes they hope to bring about in the world. And then we will help make those dreams a reality.”
Restonic will award a $500 prize consumers can use to help fulfill their dreams in each of six rounds of the contest.
After that, Restonic will select a grand prize winner who can build a customized Restonic mattress of his or her dreams.
Consumers can enter the contest via a link on Restonic’s website. They can submit a brief essay explaining their personal
or philanthropic dreams, or they can describe their dreams by creating a short video.
Written entries will be limited to 300 words or less. Those who want to enter via video can record a 60-second movie
and post it on YouTube, and then paste the link into the entry form on the Restonic website. Submissions will be collected
throughout the six rounds. Participants can enter as many times as they wish.
“We encourage our consumers to be creative in their dream submissions,” Passaglia said. “For example, the written
entry can be a poem or the video entry can be a skit, as long as the entrant explains how the dream is important and
why Restonic should support it.”
Dream submissions will be evaluated by a third-party selection committee that will look for creativity and will
evaluate how the dreams could benefit others.
The grand prize winner will receive a factory tour and will have the opportunity to design his or her dream mattress
on the spot. The mattress will be shipped to the winner’s home.

Las Vegas, January 26, 2010:
Tuesday evening the furniture industry gave back in a very
big way to Autism Speaks. Co-hosts David Wachendorfer,
Phil Miner, Mike McQuiston, Mark Quinn, Jerry Williams,
Scott Graham, Joe Amato, Randy Coconis, Stuart Carlitz and
Doug Krinsky conducted the 3rd Annual Ante4Autism event
at the Las Vegas furniture market and raised over $9,000!
“We had a great group of players and we were very pleased
with the turnout” Krinsky said. The combined donations,
entry fees and corporate support totaled over $9,000
and we continue to receive donations. Jim Ralph was the
Grand Champion this year and Co-Host Jerry Williams was
our runner up. Both graciously donated their winnings back
to Autism Speaks, as did other top finishers. Tom Daley finished in 3rd place and Co-host Phil Miner placed 4th.
The hosts would also like to thank several supporters of the event: Leggett and Platt, David Wachendorfer
of Tempur-Pedic, Phil Miner and Mike McQuiston at Symbol and Bob Quinn at Restonic for their corporate
donations of prizes for the raffle drawing. The hosts would also like to thank Mack Mattress Outlet in
Columbus, OH, and the Serta Mattress Company for sponsoring our food for the evening. In addition we
want to thank Kyle Doran at R & A Marketing, Marv Beneteau at RMG, David Lively of The Lively Merchant
and Binion’s for their help and support of the event. In addition, co-host Doug Krinsky said, “We would like
to thank everyone that attended or donated to 3rd Annual Ante4Autism event.” “We will also continue to
accept donations on line or by check as well.”
Donations can be made by visiting: http://www.ramarketing.com/ante4autism or checks can be made out

“We were very excited with the turnout this year and look forward to an even bigger event next January”
said Krinsky. “The furniture industry has a big heart when it comes to giving back
and once again we were not disappointed!” “There is hope with new treatments,
therapies and the research being done right now that some day in the near future
we can find the cause of autism, and prevent it.”
“The prevalence of Autism is now 1 in 110 births and we need do more research to
stop this epidemic from continuing to rise.” “We thank everyone for their support
and hope to see everyone again next year” said Krinsky.

FMG Symposium Draws 160 to Las Vegas
Sessions focus on improving retail business
Clint Engel -- Furniture Today, February 1, 2011
LAS VEGAS — The 21st annual Furniture Marketing Group
Symposium held here just prior to last week’s Las Vegas Market
drew a healthy crowd as the buying group tackled the topic of
succeeding in a tough economic climate among other things.
FMG recorded its best ever attendance for the Jan. 21-23
symposium at the Aria Resort and Casino, with more than
160 people at the evening functions, said Mike Herschel,
executive director. That included some 55 member retailers,
45 vendor partners and other guests.
Herschel said his two goals for the conference were “to provide
relevant sessions to spark ideas for increasing store traffic” and
“to create opportunities for member interaction and idea sharing.”
Business sessions during the event included panel discussions,
retail best idea and merchandise sessions, vendor roundtables
and speakers.
Restonic was a featured vendor at the FMG Symposium at the
Aria Hotel in Las Vegas. Ron Passaglia manned the both and spoke
to the attending retailers.
Rich Kizer and Georganne Bender of Kizer and Bender Speaking offered tips on generating traffic in a sluggish economy,
while Jeff Hiller of JB Training Solutions, and president of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, led a workshop “based
on open-book management, offering tips and techniques for effective goal setting, staff buy-in and accountability, while
keeping stores an exciting place of employment,” according to FMG.
The panel on “Attracting Customers in Turbulent Times,” included Oscar Miskelly, Miskelly Furniture, Jackson, Miss.;
John Schultz, John V. Schultz Furniture; Erie, Pa.; Brad Lebow, Horich Parks Lebow Advertising; and Martin Roberts,
Martin Roberts Design.
Another panel explored Internet opportunities and featured Robert VanHoose, Big Sandy Superstore, Franklin Furnace,
Ohio; Seth Weisblatt, Sam’s Furniture & Appliance, Fort Worth, Texas; John Mulliken, Get It Near Me by CSN Stores; and
Andy Bernstein, FurnitureDealer.net.
Attendees also enjoyed networking opportunities and entertainment.
FMG President Larry Klaben of Morris Home Furnishings in Dayton, Ohio, said 2010 was a strong year for new
memberships, with the group now at 95 retailer members with more than 750 stores. More than 20 FMG members
are listed on Furniture/Today’s Top 100.
Retailers joining the group last year were Farmer’s Furniture, Dublin, Ga.; The Furniture Warehouse, Sarasota, Fla.;
Beck’s Furniture, Rancho Cordova, Calif.; B.F. Myers Furniture, Nashville, Tenn.; Jerome’s, San Diego; Linder’s Furniture,
