‘Ms Beautiful Eyes’, another
mini title of Ms.Lanka 2007 took
place recently. Along with that the
contestants had a fun morning of
‘tips and toes’, nail art sessions at
the
Technique
International
School of Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy at Rosmead Place,
Colombo 7.
It provided the contestants and
the make up artist team which
comprised past and present students of Technique International
an opportunity to get well
acquainted with each other. Our
aim was to build up the confidence of the contestants previewing their ability to handle all the
finer points of the hair and beauty
trade.
Kasun Amerasinghe, the photographer for the pageant and
Sunday Observer, the official
media sponsor, spent the afternoon taking photographs for the
‘Ms. Beautiful Eyes’ title after
which ‘Exotic Eye’ make up was
done for each contestant.
Interestingly it is worth noting
that some of these Technique
International students are qualified World Federation of Hairdressing and Beauty Schools UK,
others have qualified at the City
and Guild while all are working
towards the NSQ Level 4 Sri
Lanka.
This day was one in which the
projects for the make up module,
with ‘Designer Nails’ and ‘Exotic
Eyes’ was held.
Voting for the Most Popular
Contestant is still going on. We
have the State Pharmaceutical
Corporation continuing as joint
sponsor and MAX TV and V FM as
Electronic and Radio sponsors.
Ms. Beautiful Smile and Ms.
Photogenic will be held on
November 4.
Making every effort to make
each event a success, the General
Manager of Palm Beach Hotel, Mr.
Lanil Jayawardene together with
Gwendoline Kuhatheva, organiser
of Ms. Lanka 2007 have planned
an exciting day out on December
8. The program will start with a
‘Diyaredda Parade’ and ‘Kalagedi
Dance’ around the pool for the
‘Ms. Crowing Glory’ title. This
will be followed by the selection of
the ‘Palm Beach Queen’ by a special panel of judges. The clothes
will be designed by the contestants
themselves and the title ‘Ms.
Designer’ will be voted for by the
contestants and the make up artist
team.
Lunch will be Lamprais on the
beach followed by a cricket match
and a Baila session.
‘Ms. Lanka 2007’ will raise
funds for the new Ophthalmic
Unit of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for urgently required equipment.
