We are now entering our 7th year hosting the Kastel Show Cattle & Friends Sale and we feel that we have put together an impressive set of cattle for you. We have something for everyone with our biggest sale offering to date. The past year, we gained some wonderful new friends, viewed beautiful cattle, and even grabbed some purple along the way. Once again, words go without saying our heartfelt thank you to all of our family and friends for their help and support. It takes a lot time and teamwork to put this together and we could not do it without all of you. Please join us Saturday evening for “Cattle Fest” 2011 for cattle viewing, BBQ, refreshments and socializing. Cattle can be viewed anytime prior to the sale, visitors are always welcome. Kastel Show Cattle & Friends Josh & Michelle Kastel HEIFERSS JFK Furby 1 Sire: Bojo DOB: April Dam: PB Shorthorn Shorthorn Plus Michelle just had to name this roaned heifer Furby! And she has been a pasture stand out from day one. Her mom was our pick of breds from Tom Farrers sale in 2009. Kevin Wendt said her dam would make to the front donor pen, and if she keeps this up, she sure will be there in no time. Furby is really deep ribbed, shaggy, freak necked and just plain has the show ring “look”. Michelle has her spoiled rotten so needless to say she’s a big ol babe. Have fun trucking her around and wait and watch the heads turn as she enters the ring. JFK RD Sally Sire: Who Made Who Dam: JFK Portia DOB: March WOW!! Now here is a donor cow in the making. WMW heifers make WMW bred females someday and we all know how hot they are in all those fall and winter sales. Her dam and grand dam (JFK Lana) are donors for us now. When Right Direction Cattle LLC teamed up with us on Portia we both knew we wanted a “who” out of her. This one is just getting better every day. She has it all, hair, belly and great necked!! Club calf mama here. An added bonus...she was shown by Joseph (age 4) this year at the fair winning her class and division making it to the final drive. Good Job Joseph!! Owned with Right Direction Cattle 2 HEIFERSS Miss 2 Sweet 4 U 3 Sire: Eye Candy DOB: April Dam: Simmental Market Heifer Deluxe!!! Try to find one with more bone, hair and “the look” all in one nice package!! My eyes have loved this one from the moment they laid eyes on her. Have fun hauling this one around to all the shows this year. Consigned by Schneider Farms AHM Isabelle Sire: Heat Wave Dam: Mariah DOB: March Here is a heifer that has that has some big shoes to fill. Her brothers were Champion Pen of Steers at the 2009 Michigan State Fair, Her Sister (photo to the right) has had a great show career including Champion Maine at the Michigan Winter Beef Show and 5th overall heifer and her dam Mariah is one of the most consistent producers in the industry. Consigned by Hyder Farms Miss New York 5 Sire: Quad S Sunny Dam: Dr. Who DOB: April T h i s one plain has the “look”!! Style to burn, hair to make a llama jealous or me!!! Buy her and bring her to the winners circle. Her big brother was Grand Champion Steer at a really tough New York Fair Consigned by Quad S Farms 4 HEIFERSS JFK Miss Indiana 6 Sire: One & Only Dam: Maine Break DOB: April Miss Indiana was the result of our purchase from the Run of the Roses Sale this past year. This one has the look to be a great cow and show heifer. If you like baldies like me, this is the one to have in the barn. I have a great mating in mind for this one when the time comes. JFK Dirty Blond Sire: Heat Wave Dam: Mimms 9P Donor DOB: April 7 Smoking is only ok when you do it this way. Purchased in last years Holiday Classic Sale and out of the great 9P Donor cow of Mimms. It’s not everyday that you see a baldie smokey. She has cow power written all over her and the pedigree to match. Buy her and I can help you make money on this one for sure. 8 HF Meggie Sire: Monopoly Dam: Chill Factor DOB: February Look at this pedigree….it doesn’t get any better than this. This heifer traces back to the great OWC Peggy Sue. Her I’m a Legend sister was champion Market Heifer at the 2010 Michigan Livestock Expo. Consigned by Halsey Family HEIFERSS Quad S Barbie Girl Sire: Quad S Sonny Dam: Mossy Oak/Payback DOB: April 9 Anyone who has been around us might remember our “Barbie” who was a big winner in the show ring for us and never got beat. This freaked necked, shagged out, booted heifer reminds me a lot of her. She sure will look hot in the show ring!! Consigned by Quad S Farms Pepper Sire: Monopoly Dam: Maximus DOB: March 10 Very complete stylish heifer that will make an excellent donor once her show career is over. She reminds Jeremiah a lot of the calf they sold last year that won at the Missouri State Fair. She is broke and ready to show Consigned by Johnston Farms JF Diamond in the Rough DOB: March Sire: Guns n Roses Dam: Bleeding Purple/Angus 17 Diamond is truly what her name implies. She is massively made but still maintains a feminime front end. The Heat Wave/Who combo is deadly in the show ring. You will want to be leading this heifer instead of following her in a market heifer class. Consigned by Johnston Farms JF Maybelline DOB: March Sire: Ace of Diamonds Dam: Lucky 13 Annedelle 25N 18 Maybelline comes from the Anndelle cow family which hails from the DJS Anndelle 330 line. Her mother has been a consistent producer for the Johnston's for many years and the only reason why they are letting this one go is that they already have two daughters in production. Can be registered shorthorn plus. Consigned by Johnston Farms Quad S Who’ Your Girl DOB: March 19 Sire: Who Made Who Dam: Carney Man/Angus We all know how hard it is to snag up bred Who’s in all the fall and winter sales. Consigned by Quad S Farms HEIFERS HF Kim 20 Sire: Playmate Dam: I’m a Legend DOB: March Who wants to make money? Buy this one and she’ll make a cow. Big rumped, great necked. Quad S Sonny 30 Quad S Sonny Steer that was Chapion at a tough New York Fair Quad S Sonny is a Sun Seeker/Habanero bull that the Siburts bought from Kris Black. I could go on and on about all these females, but they are all so uniform yet out of different types of cows. Lots 28 &30 are out of good Meyer 734 cows (you know I love my Meyers) and Lots 27 & 29 are a little more moderate with club calf making mommas written all over them. Quad S Sonny stamps them out all the same, hairy, good necked with some rib. You can take any of these heifers and show and then put in the pasture when your done. Consigned by Quad S Farms HEIFERS M&S Moon Walker 31 Sire: Apollo Dam: Fired Up/Simmental DOB: March This baldie faced female comes out an impressive Fired Up simmy influenced cow. JFK Tressel Sire: Heat Wave Dam: Guyer Donor 32731 DOB: March 35 I don’t think my Tressel is gonna get kicked out of Ohio just yet. This brockle faced, diamond footed steer is a once in a lifetime for many. He’s the coolest Heat Wave I’ve seen in a long time. This thing would grow hair in Texas. He LOVES the water!!! Get ready to rinse. I can’t wait to follow him around this show season!!! 36 JFK Daddy “O” Sire: Monopoly Dam: OWC Rachel DOB: March Daddy “O” has a perfect “O” on his hind quarter to slap when he grabs the purple!!! The first Monopoly out of our lead donor Rachel, he sure did hit his mark. Chromed up, huge topped, big footed and jet necked...sounds like a champion checklist to me.
