OmniPod® is a registered trademark of the Insulet Corporation. Hello. We’re Animas. Since 1996, we’ve been making insulin pumps. We also give our time, guidance and support to the people who use them. The only Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)enabled insulin pump fully integrated with Dexcom G4® PLATINUM CGM sensing technology. uninterrupted insulin delivery First to use lithium battery for longer lasting performance First 0.05U bolus increment, for precision dosing First 0.025U/hr basal increment, for fine-tuned insulin delivery First high contrast, colour screen for outstanding readability It’s performance that’s simply advanced. Today, we continue to deliver products with functional innovations that help you to manage your diabetes and help you perform at your best– whatever that looks like for you. We’re developing an artificial pancreas for automated glycaemic control, through a partnership with JDRF. Behind every Animas insulin pump, you’ll find us: an Animas team committed to making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. Our inspiration is you. Proven waterproof at 12 feet for up to 24 hours2 Compatible with Dexcom G4® PLATINUM CGM technology. Bolus Functions First truly waterproof pump (3.6 metres for 24 hours) for Some new terms to learn, and how to find what you’re looking for. The Animas® Vibe® insulin pump is designed with you in mind. Throughout our history, we’ve introduced many industry firsts: Meet the Animas® Vibe® Insulin Pump and CGM System 1-, 3-, 6-, 12-, and 24-hour increments of continuous glucose data. OmniPod®* Animas® Vibe® Insulin Pump term Menu Location on Animas® Vibe® Insulin Pump About this feature Feature on the Animas Pump Normal Bolus Normal Bolus Bolus > Normal Use this to deliver a simple bolus in units. A normal bolus is used to cover your insulin needs. If you do not have your Audio Bolus feature turned on, the button on the end of your pump will function as a shortcut to the Normal Bolus screen. Meal bolus ezCarb Bolus > ezCarb Correction Bolus ezBG Bolus > ezBG Use ezCarb to deliver a bolus for Carbs and a correction, or for Carbs alone. Setup Wizard I:C Ratio, ISF, and BG Target Setup Setup > Advanced > Screen 1 Set different I:C ratios, ISFs, and BG Targets for up to 12 different time segments each. Extended Bolus Combo (or Extended) Bolus Bolus > ezCarb: In ‘Bolus Total’ Screen, enter Bolus amount, scroll to ‘Type’ field, change to ‘Combo’, then select ‘Go’. In the Combo Bolus screen, adjust the duration and ratio of Normal & Extended portions of a bolus to meet your requirements. For example, 30% Normal and 70% Extended. Your pump is “smart”; it will remember your last duration and the ratio (as percentages) you programmed. However, the last programmed Combo Bolus settings will be cleared each time you change the battery and suspend or prime the pump. Prime bolus Fill Cannula Prime/Rewind > Fill Cannula Enter the amount of insulin needed to fill the cannula. Refer to the Instructions for Use included with your infusion set for details on amounts. Insulin in your cannula is never added on to your insulin amounts. You will need to re-enter the Fill Cannula amount with each infusion set change. For safety this is limited to 1u. Insulin delived through ll cannula will not be included in your active insulin. Use ezBG to deliver a correction bolus. In ezCarb and ezBG you can edit (change) your I:C ratio, ISF, and/or BG target right on the screen. This will not change the default values you entered during Advanced Setup. To change permanently, you would need to reprogram in the Advanced Setup. You can find out how much insulin is on board anytime you want by looking in the status feature on your pump (Status Screen 2). Status > Screen 2 Water-resistant durability2 Insulin on board (IOB) Insulin action (duration) Insulin on Board (IOB) Insulin on Board (IOB) Setup or ‘Bolus Total’ screens in ezCarb and ezBG Setup > Advanced > Screen 8 If activated, IOB will keep track of any bolus doses that you take and will let you know how much of that bolus is still working to lower your BG. IOB is also displayed on the CGM Data screen. When in sleep mode, pressing the Contrast button/CGM shortcut will awaken the pump to the CGM Data screen if it was the last displayed screen. Your pump is constantly tracking Insulin on Board, so when you turn on the feature, your pump will immediately take into account the current amount remaining from previous bolus doses within the time frame you have selected during set up of the feature. Turn the Insulin on Board (indicated by “IOB” on the screen) feature on or off. Select the duration from 1.5 to 6.5 hours in half-hour increments. 1. Using a compatible diabetes management software to customise and upload a food database. 2. Animas® Vibe® Insulin Pump is waterproof in up to 3.6 meters (12 feet) of water for up to 24 hours ( The Animas® Vibe® Insulin Pump & CGM System Owner’s Booklet. P/N 410-298-50 Rev A. See Performance Characteristics, p. 104.) The Dexcom® Sensor and Transmitter are water-resistant when submerged for up to 8 feet (2.4meters) for a maximum of 24 hours) ( Dexcom G4® Platinum Continuous Glucose Monitoring System User’s Guide, LBL012514 Rev 01. See p. 67.) High-contrast colour screen Please note that CGM readings may not be transmitted from the CGM to the pump when in water (The Animas® Vibe® Insulin Pump & CGM System Owner’s Booklet. The Home screen will show if your Temp Basal is active, the percentage change, the duration, and how much time is left. You can choose to turn sound ON or OFF for temp basal in Setup. If you turned ON the Temp Basal sound, your pump will beep once every 30 minutes to remind you of TempBasal status. This selection allows you to access and program your basal rate. Each basal program can be set with up to 12 different basal rates (doses) in a 24-hour period. 4 programmes: Weekday, Weekend, Exercise and Other. To Select either 1 basal program or 4 basal programs go to Setup > Advanced > Screen 2. This selection allows you to access and program your basal rate. Each basal program can be set with up to 12 different basal rates (doses) in a 24-hour period. This selection stops all insulin deliveries and resume restarts basal delivery. You can set your pump to detect a blockage with high sensitivity (H) or low sensitivity (L). 0.70u Data download Steel Cannula Temp Basal You can decrease your basal rate by 90% (in 10% decrements) or increase your basal rate by 200% (in 10% increments). You can also set to OFF. You can set the duration up to 24 hours in half-hour increments. In the Temp Basal screen, enter the desired percentage change and duration. For example, to decrease basal rate by 10% (ie. 90% temp basal), enter -10%. To increase basal rate by 10% (ie. 110% temp basal), enter +10% Carbs and Cals food list available to download using Diasend. Up to 500 food items available. To add a time segment between others there is no need to delete, the pump automatically puts it into chronological order. This feature allows you to stop and restart delivery quickly and easily. It also cancels delivery of any Temp Basal or Bolus, including Combo Bolus that may be currently active. In suspend mode a repetitive alarm will occure warning that no insulin is currently delivered since pump is suspended. The sensitivity level refers to how quickly the pump will sense back pressure from an occlusion in the infusion line, with H meaning “more sensitive” and L meaning “less sensitive”. Your pump will automtically alert you, when it detects an occlusion and stop all insulin delivieries. Suspend to download to Diasend®. Diasend® is a web-based diabetes management system that allows you to store, review, and print your insulin pump and blood glucose meter data on the Diasend® website. Since the system is web-based, you can upload your data at home, and your authorised healthcare providers can review it between or during appointments, neatly sorted into charts and graphs on the secure Diasend® website.
