| introduction
This fitness guide focuses on two simple realities – functional fitness centers are key
attributes for selecting a hotel and top quality equipment is important to our guests.
Fitness trends have guided Hampton to say good-bye to endless walls of mirrors,
over crowded rooms, and a carpeted conference room look. We are pleased to
introduce a fitness design with an innovative look and feel, core and balance training
and a quality experience for our guests.
This guide has been created to assist you with the implementation of specific
attributes of the fitness center. Broken down by sections and action steps, this
guide will lead you through a selection process before placing your orders with the
appropriate vendors.
how do i decide?
first: determine your hotel’s status for compliance:
a. hotels under construction, or PIP, after 7/1/08 must comply with
Brand standards, please refer to the Hampton Standards Manual for
further information.
b. existing hotels with fitness rooms, under voluntary renovation must
comply with Brand standards, as follows:
1. if renovation includes replacement of flooring or wall treatments,
hotel must comply with all room design specifications found in the
Hampton Fitness Guide: Room Design pages 2-32 and Fitness
Equipment pages 34-35.
2. if equipment is in need of replacement, hotel must replace existing
equipment with one of the approved suppliers in this guide.
Equipment may not be mixed and matched by brand.
c. all hotels, with an existing fitness center must comply with Brand standards,
please refer to the Hampton Standards Manual for further information.

Each section of this guide requires action steps before your fitness room can
be completed. It is important to review pricing and guest needs to make the
best purchasing decision for your property. You will find the order forms for
the preferred vendors in this guide.

to follow up with the vendor to confirm the order status. Plan accordingly, as
there is often a 6-8 week lead time on most equipment.
finally: once the equipment is received, use the sample room layout in this guide to
set up your fitness center and complete the design.

These mirror frame segments are designed to wrap a wall mounted mirror. One
edge has a rabbet to receive mirror. Shipped in 11 3/4" x 8' lengths of maple veneer
with a dark chocolate finish. The "flush mount" pieces are 7 3/4" wide. Professional
finish carpenters are required to install.
