BABY LOCK ICON REFERENCE CHART The key images in this document are from the Baby Lock Destiny. The icons on your machine may be a different shape or color, but the images in those icons are consistent from one machine to another. Some machines will not have all the functions available on the Baby Lock Destiny, so some of these icons may not appear on the machine you are using. HOME PAGE KEYS Camera View Key Touch to check needle position as shown by the built-in camera. Help Key Touch to view operation instructions, tutorial videos or MP4 movie files. Home Page Key Touch to return to the Home page. Machine Settings Key Touch to open the Settings pages. Presser Foot/Needle Exchange Key Touch to lock or unlock all key and button functions. Prevents machine operation while changing presser foot or needle. Screen Lock Key Touch to lock or unlock the screen. When the screen is locked, you can still sew but cannot change any screen functions. Time/Date Key Touch to set the clock to your local time. UTILITY SEWING KEYS Backstitch (Automatic Reinforcement Stitch Key) Touch to engage or disengage automatic tie-off stitching. Back to Beginning Key If you stop sewing in the middle of a stitch sequence, touch this key to return to the beginning of the sequence. Character/Decorative Stitch Key Touch to select character or decorative stitch patterns. Edge Sewing Key Touch to set up for edge sewing with the built-in camera. Free Motion Key Touch to set machine for free-motion sewing. The presser foot is raised to an appropriate height and the feed dogs are lowered for free-motion stitching. Guideline Marker Key Touch to display the guideline marker along the sewing line. The guideline marker makes it easier to align stitches with the fabric edge or other marker on the fabric. Reset Key Touch to return the selected stitch pattern saved settings to the default settings. Retrieve Key Touch to select and open a pattern saved in the machine memory. Sensor Pen Key Touch to use the Sensor Pen functions. Single/Repeat Sewing Key Touch to sew a single repeat of the selected stitch pattern or to sew a continuous line of repeating stitch patterns. Stitch Length Key The default stitch length will be displayed in the window. Use the plus (+) and minus (-) keys to adjust the length of the stitch as desired. Image Key Touch to display an enlarged image of the selected stitch pattern. Stitch Width Key The default stitch width will be displayed in the window. Use the plus (+) and minus (-) keys to adjust the width of the stitch as desired. Left/Right Shift Key Use the plus (+) key to shift the stitch pattern to the right or use the minus (-) key to shift the stitch pattern to the left. This feature is not available on all patterns. Tension Key Shows the automatic thread tension setting for the selected stitch pattern. Use the plus (+) and minus (-) keys to change the tension setting. Memory Key Touch to save stitch pattern combinations. Thread Color Change Key Touch this key to change the thread color of the selected stitches at the left side of the screen. Mirror Image Key - Horizontal Touch to create a mirror image of the selected stitch pattern. The stitch pattern will be turned left to right. Pivot Key Touch to turn the pivot function on or off. When the pivot function is selected, topping the machine automatically lowers the needle into the fabric and slightly raises the presser foot. When sewing is restarted, the presser foot is automatically lowered. Presser Foot Shows the recommended presser foot for the selected stitch. Thread Cutting Key Touch to engage or disengage the automatic thread cutting mode. Twin Needle Key Touch to select twin needle sewing or to return to single needle sewing. If the key is grayed out, the selected stitch pattern cannot be stitched in twin needle mode. Utility Stitch Key Touch to select sewing stitches like straight stitch, zigzag, buttonhole or blind hem. CHARACTER AND DECORATIVE KEYS Backstitch (Automatic Reinforcement Stitch Key) Touch to engage or disengage automatic tie-off stitching. Character Spacing Key Touch to change the spacing of character patterns. Delete Key If you select an incorrect stitch pattern, touch this key to delete it. When you make a mistake in combining stitch patterns, touch this key to delete stitch patterns. Elongation Key Touch when 7mm satin stitch patterns are selected to choose from five automatic length settings. The pattern length is changed without changing the zigzag width or stitch length settings. Free Motion Key Touch to set machine for free-motion sewing. The presser foot is raised to an appropriate height and the feed dogs are lowered for free-motion stitching. Guideline Marker Key Touch to display the guideline marker along the sewing line. The guideline marker makes it easier to align stitches with the fabric edge or other marker on the fabric. Pattern Display Size Show the approximate size of the selected pattern. 100% = Nearly the same size as the sewn pattern. 50% = ½ the size of the sewn pattern. 25% = ¼ the size of the sewn pattern. The actual size of the pattern may differ depending on the fabric and thread used. Pivot Key Touch to turn the pivot function on or off. When the pivot function is selected, topping the machine automatically lowers the needle into the fabric and slightly raises the presser foot. Thread Density Key After selecting the stitch pattern, use this key to change the thread density of the pattern. EMBROIDERY KEYS Add Key Touch to select and add another pattern to the editing pattern. Font Type Key Touch to change the font type after entering all the characters. Appliqué Key Touch to create an appliqué piece using the selected pattern. Forward/Back Key Touch to move the needle forward or back within the pattern. This is useful if the thread breaks while sewing or if you want to start again from the beginning. Array Key (Arc Lettering) Touch to arrange lettering in an arc or on an incline. Basting Key Touch to add a basting stitch around the pattern. You can set the desired basting distance. Border Key Touch to make and edit a repeating pattern. Cut/Tension Key Touch to specify automatic thread cutting, thread trimming or the thread tension. For embroidery, these functions are set automatically. Character Spacing Key Touch to change the spacing between letters in character patterns. Delete Key Touch to delete the selected pattern. (The selected pattern will be outlined by a red box.) Density Key Touch to change the density of frame patterns or character patterns. Duplicate Key Touch to duplicate a pattern. Embroidery Key Touch to call up the embroidering screen. Embroidery Positioning Key Touch to align the embroidering position using the built-in camera with an embroidery positioning sticker (snowman sticker). Fabric Image Save Key Touch to scan the fabric to align the embroidery position. Image Key Touch this key for a preview of the sewn image. Letter Edit Key Touch to edit character font type or size after entering all. Memory Key Touch to save a pattern in the machine’s memory, USB media, or a computer. Mirror Image Key - Horizontal Touch to create a mirror image of the selected stitch pattern. The stitch pattern will be turned left to right. Move Key Touch to display the pattern moving window. Multi-Color Key Touch to change the color of individual letters in a character pattern. Needle Point Check Key Touch to check the needle drop point with the light of the LED pointer. Pattern Connect Key Touch to start pattern connecting embroidering. You can connect the patterns accurately using the built-in camera. Pattern Select Key When a combined pattern is selected, use these keys to select a part of the pattern for editing. Return Key Touch to return to the previous screen and select additional patterns. Rotate Key Touch to rotate the pattern. You can rotate a pattern 1 degree, 10 degrees or 90 degrees at a time. EMBROIDERY KEYS Rotate 90 Degrees to the Left Decrease the Pattern Horizontally (make it narrower). Rotate 90 Degrees to the Right Stretch the Pattern Vertically (make it taller). Rotate 10 Degrees to the Left Decrease the Pattern Vertically (make it shorter). Rotate 10 Degrees to the Right Return to the Original Size Rotate 1 Degree to the Left Sensor Pen Key Touch to use the Sensor Pen for positioning the embroidery pattern. Rotate 1 Degree to the Right Starting Point Key Touch to move the needle start position to align the needle with the pattern position. Rotate 0.1 Degree to the Left Thread Palette Key Touch to change the colors of the displayed pattern. Rotate 0.1 Degree to the Right Separate Key Touch to display the pattern separate window. You can separate the combined character patterns (letters) to adjust the spacing or edit separately afterwards. Trial Key Touch to check the position of the pattern. The embroidery frame moves to the desired position so you can check that there is enough space to sew the pattern. Uninterrupted Embroidery Key Touch to embroider the selected pattern with a single color. Size Key Touch to change the size of the pattern. Patterns can be enlarged or reduced. Enlarge Pattern Proportionately (change both height and width). Decrease Pattern Proportionately (change both height and width). Stretch the Pattern Horizontally (make it wider). LBIN-ICONCHART
