JULY 2012 CALENDAR Life with Cancer About Life with Cancer™ Life with Cancer is part of Inova Health System, a not-for-profit healthcare system. Our programs and services are offered throughout Northern Virginia and our main facility is the Dewberry Life with Cancer Family Center; a home-like setting where people can come together to learn, share and find solutions to the many questions that arise when one is diagnosed with cancer. Our professional staff is made up of experienced oncology nurses and social workers. Our programs are FREE thanks to generous community support. Any one affected by cancer, including their family members, may participate in our classes, groups and services, regardless of where they live or receive treatment. Join us on July 19 for our annual visit to this lovely botanical garden, and specifically the garden featuring plants used in the treatment of cancer, or being researched for such use. Keith Tomlinson, Gardens Manager and Fellow of the Washington Academy of Science, will provide an overview of this particular collection and remind us of the healing power of nature, Bring sunscreen and hat and meet in the lobby of the Visitor Center.
