She's had as many as three full-time jobs / businesses, and that's not including her super-busy schedule with the kids (she's a hockey mom), and family. “My whole family's in business,” she notes, so she comes by her super-powers through experience, and lots of it. As for the work-life balance, she “sets boundaries. Keeping time set aside for family, and trying to make the most of my time while I'm working.” The happy customers and appreciative community members remind her everyday why she's in business, with her husband. She is also a volunteer firefighter (for past three years) with the Chalfant Valley Fire Department, and she recently helped out residents during the flooding in Chalfant. The Merc and bar have a faithful following of neighbors and travelers, who stop for pre-made breakfast burritos, or make a regular lunch-time and dinner stop for the daily specials, pie, bread pudding, hot coffee, beer on tap, and good company. Kile notes the Merc will expand in the spring, with an outside patio area, live music, and local band members who will offer guitar sessions / classes. The store also features handmade soaps, jewelry, and candy from many local residents. It's a “really busy” place /cafe / store / gas stop, and she serves up a mean prime rib or steak too!
