Inside this issue:
Great Turnout for the October Show
The annual ESC Show and Auction turned out to be a worthwhile fundraiser again this year
thanks to the many businesses who gave donations and the many volunteers who donated

lake. A complete list of donating businesses is on page 2. Please join us in saying thanks
by patronizing those businesses for their generous donations to your club. Very special
thanks to the dealers that brought all the new sleds and gear for everyone to see.

Please register your sleds as soon as possible!
Each year NY State sets a cut- off date in late December
for apportioning the dollars received from your sled registration money that goes back to the various clubs in New
York State. Any revenue received for sleds registered after this date will not be apportioned back to the clubs this
season. The dollars returned to the clubs are used for
expenses such as groomer fuel and are necessary for the
clubs to continue in operation. If you haven’t registered
yet, please do as soon as possible.
Thank you!
Ray Head held a Signage meeting at
the Bemus Golf Coarse Wednesday evening.
To review and update the current recommendation from the Parks Department on the
signs used on the trails.
Thanks to all the guys that have taken
on the task of putting signs up and taking
them down on our system. With your help and
dedication this task has become a lot easier
on everyone. It just proves that “Many hands
make light work”
Trail Changes!!!!!!!!!!!!
At the printing of this letter there are some changes coming to a trail system near you.
These changes will be around the Bemus Point area. It would be hard to explain exactly
what they are, but they will be well marked. Please do not ride on the old trails.
Please check our web site for updates.
Have fun and be safe!

share our riding experience with other
members, organize impromptu group rides
and generally communicate with each
other.
Join facebook and be part of the group!!

Building and Groomer Update
It is late November and the push is on to get our new
Groomer Building closed up before the snow starts
blowing hard. In the pictures the ceiling is going up.
This has to be installed for the garage doors to be installed. The doors are on order and should arrive in the
next week.
The push is on to get our new groomer before the season
gets under way. Steve LaTone and Jamie Carlson have
been working hard on the paperwork. We had some paperwork that was being held up, with some phone calls
this has been cleared and we are under way again.

Meeting
Schedule
Ellery Sno-Cruisers meetings will be held at Bemus Point Golf
Course at 7:00 PM on the first and third Wednesday of each
month from now through the end of the season.
All members are welcomed!
DECEMBER 22ND DATE SET TO OPEN TRAILS IF WEATHER PERMITS.
Please do not ride the trails prior to the opening date. Remember, the use of snowmobile trails prior to the
official opening date is trespassing! It is imperative that everyone works together and obeys the rules in
order to continue to enjoy our sport.
Trail Openings and Closings.
There is a lot of effort and considerations in the opening and closing of trails. Here is a
list of thoughts that go thru every decision to open and close.
1. Obliviously Snow Conditions.
2. Safety Concerns.
3. Fallen Trees.
4. Washed out Culverts.
5. Gates opened or Closed.
6. Enough snow in high fields to protect Farmers Crops.
7. Signage
Then calls are made to different club members to go out and ride the trails and visually
check the trails for the concerns listed above. When our trail system has been driven and
checked and all is ok we officially open the trails.
We do not just open, we take these steps in opening to provide a safe riding experience
for our members and to monitor the land that has been entrusted to us by our much needed
Landowners.
Please remember we are in a Lake Effect snow area there could 1 to 3 inches an hour
falling in part of the county and 5 miles down the road the ground could be bare. It is important to check to see which clubs have opened before you cross in to a club’s trails that have
not been opened yet.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.
