Le Belge LPI devient distributeur exclusif de tentes lodges luxueuses en Europe
Landen, le 12 juin 2015 – L’entreprise belge LPI a décroché une primeur européenne. Le spécialiste
des accessoires de voyage sud-africains a présenté aujourd’hui sa coentreprise avec la société sudafricaine Canvas and Tent, un leader mondial absolu dans sa spécialité. Le spécialiste belge réagit
ainsi à la grande demande de lodges sur le marché européen. Sous la dénomination de Canvas and
Tent Europe, l’entreprise de Landen devient le distributeur exclusif des tentes safari Bushtec en
Europe. Ce type de tentes lodges est le summum absolu du luxe dans le monde des voyages. Richard
Branson, notamment, séjourne dans des lodges de la marque dans son resort exclusif au Maroc.
L’entreprise belge LPI à Landen a présenté aujourd’hui sa coentreprise avec Canvas and Tent. La
présentation s’est tenue en présence de Gino Debroux, bourgmestre de Landen, de Wilhelm Smalberger,
le ministre de l’Économie de l’ambassade d’Afrique du Sud, et de Willie Burger, directeur de Bushtec
Safari Afrique du Sud. Au cours de la présentation officielle de la collaboration, la salle d’exposition a
également été inaugurée solennellement.
Sous la dénomination de Canvas and Tent Europe, l’entreprise belge devient l’importateur et l’installateur
exclusifs des lodges de Bushtec Safari dans toute l’Europe. La collaboration doit répondre à la grande
demande régnant actuellement sur le marché européen. « Nous avons décidé de nous lancer avec LPI
parce que cette entreprise a accumulé de nombreuses années d’expertise quasi unique dans le secteur »,
affirme Willie Burger, directeur de Bushtec Safari Afrique du Sud. « Afin d’assurer la meilleure
transmission possible des connaissances de Bushtec Safari, les collaborateurs de LPI ont également fait
personnellement le voyage en Afrique du Sud pour suivre une formation approfondie. »
Expérience unique
La primeur européenne fait suite au grand succès remporté par les lodges luxueux en Afrique du Sud et
dans le reste du monde. Les lodges s’inscrivent parfaitement dans la tendance touristique suivant laquelle
les personnes sont en quête d’expériences uniques au milieu de la nature, mais sans compromettre la
présence du luxe. Ainsi, Richard Branson a-t-il fait installer les tentes safari Bushtec au Maroc dans son
domaine de Kasbah Tamadot. En outre, les lodges sont également utilisés comme bar à champagne,
poolhouse ou lieu de séjour à part entière pour des hôtes.
« L’Europe est riche de milliers de lieux au paysage naturel fantastique où des personnes veulent vivre la
même expérience qu’en Afrique du Sud », affirme Marc Van Den Bosch de Canvas and Tent Europe.
« Grâce à cette collaboration, ils pourront bientôt savourer plus près de chez eux le summum absolu de
l’abondance au milieu de la nature. »
Suite hôtelière dans la nature
Les lodges peuvent être comparés à la chambre d’hôtel d’un établissement cinq étoiles. Les tentes safari
Bushtec sont installées sur une plate-forme fixe et la construction est réalisée en acier ou en bois.
L’ensemble est fini avec des toiles de canevas, des portes et fenêtres qui offrent une vue fantastique sur le
paysage naturel. Les lodges consistent en un séjour, une chambre et une salle de bain entièrement
aménagés. Grâce au chauffage et à la climatisation, les tentes safari peuvent être utilisées 365 par an, quel
que soit le climat.
« D’aucuns utilisent parfois le mot ‘glamping’ lorsqu’ils évoquent les tentes lodges, mais j’estime que la
comparaison n’est absolument pas justifiée », indique Van Den Bosch. « Glamping est un mot-valise
constitué de glamour et de camping. Et ces lodges n’ont absolument rien à voir, de près ou de loin, avec
le camping. C’est une manière de voyager hors catégorie qui offre une réponse à la tendance aux
vacances paradisiaques dans la nature tout en maintenant une ambiance de luxe. »

Bushtec Safari, our division dedicated to the Safari Market, offers years
of experience in planning and design, as well as a unique understanding
of our clients’ environment from hunting and guest lodges to luxurious
five-star safari camps.
Design
At Bushtec Safari, our in-house design department is fully cognisant of
the expectations of our clients’ discerning guests and is able to design
luxury safari tents according to customised specifications.
The design approach is one of innovation as we strive to create the
luxurious comforts of home, along with five-star comfort in a tented
camp. After all, we are in the business of creating everlasting guest
experiences – unique accommodation in the outdoors that brings you
closer to nature.
Our design department’s unwavering commitment to quality
successfully combines comfort and luxury in a product which has a
deserved reputation for long-term durability.
Every Bushtec Safari design has its own unique character which will
enhance your camp or lodge. Our attention to detail covers the living
space, bathrooms and common areas (such as libraries, bars and dining
rooms) and we pay special attention to the finishes, including doors,
windows and roofs.
Industrial-strength zips provide strength and durability, but – in the
event of misuse – these are replaceable. Only ripstop high-tear canvas
is used and the stitching is coated to protect against climatic forces
such as rain and ultraviolet exposure.
Optional PVC floor linings are welded together before being stitched
to the canvas and fire-retardant coatings can be applied on request.
This is an investment which delivers a significant ROI over time, thanks
to the quality fabrics, workmanship and quality control measures in
place in our state-of-the art manufacturing facilities.

THE MERU RANGE
Named after Mount Meru, an active strato-volcano located 70 kilometres west of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. At a height of 4,566 metres, Meru is visible from Mt Kilimanjaro on

At Bushtec Safari, we pride ourselves in always delivering top
quality products. We remain customer focused, and have a processed
approach, which ensures continual improvement and a mutually
beneficial relationship with both our suppliers and customers.
Through our newly upgraded onsite laboratory we are able to
research new and improved methods for curing, treating, laminating
and strengthening canvas, thus giving you a high standard of quality
products. Our technologically advanced equipment undertakes testing
such as the following.
Instron/Tensile Strength Testing Equipment By conducting in-house tensile strength testing, we can ensure that
the stitching and PVC welds are strong enough to withstand nature’s
elements.
Decor
Contemporary yet classic, cultural yet global, our designs bring an
element of innovation and indulgence to the world of luxury canvas
accommodation. The interior designers with whom we associate,
are inspired by creativity – filled with passion for what they do.
Our approach to decor is constantly evolving, while the quality and

Our factory in Ladysmith is ISO 14000 certified. We also offer limited
warranties on various products, parts and workmanship.
In streamlining our production we are proudly the first tent company
in Africa to implement the Eton System in our factory. This system
has revolutionised the manufacturing of canvas products. It improves
quality through hanging production, shorter through put times, less
work in progress and overall better overview and organisation of
production. With this system which provides real time data collection
and information, the production team attend and overcome gaps in
production instantaneously.
It eliminates manual transport of ‘work in progress’ items, optimising
workflow and allowing time for more value adding activities. From
more ergonomically-designed work stations to extensive flexibility
in design, this system is aimed at keeping Canvas and Tent at the
Water Head Testing Equipment forefront of excellence.
Our material is tested for various water head requirements to ensure
it meets the required standards.

Material can be tested against various international standards. All materials are available in fire retardant options.

Maintenance
MAINTENANCE
We understand that the investment in a tented camp delivers a significant ROI over
time, thanks to the quality fabrics, workmanship and quality control measures in place –
however, we acknowledge the need for day-to-day maintenance to increase the lifespan of
your tented camp.
Our installation team offers day-to-day maintenance training to both owners and camp
staff. We also provide service level agreements whereby we maintain the tents over time
– offering a turnkey solution as well as reassurance to you that the market leaders are
maintaining your investment.
