• Big Mountain Centre Private Guide – Explore the mountains like a local, find the secret
spots and learn how to ski the terrain that makes KHMR such a unique mountain. For
advanced skiers who want the inside scoop and a more personalized experience
(maximum of 4 on a first come first serve basis.)
• Expand your comfort zone with a KHMR Instructor - For intermediate skiers who are
looking for techniques to tackle the steeps that KHMR is known for. A focus on why
KHMR is the best place to learn these techniques that will improve their skills when
riding at resorts around the world. Maximum of 4 on a first come first serve basis.

Day Tour to Purcell Mountain Lodge – Start your day by
getting whisked away to this remote backcountry lodge via helicopter. Upon arrival, our
Purcell backcountry guide will be able to showcase our lodge and amenities and provide a
tour. Afterwards, the journalists will have an opportunity to explore our outdoor winter
playground by participating in snow shoeing, tobogganing and perhaps even build or
finishing building a snow fort. A gourmet chef prepared luncheon will be served. Following
lunch the journalist will enjoy another scenic flight back to the Golden BC. Maximum of 6
participants, priority will be given to those with assignment letters.

Snowmobile Tour with Golden Snowmobile Rentals –
See the beautiful Purcell mountains during a guided snowmobile trail ride into the
backcountry. This half day tour includes snowmobile rentals and leaves directly from town at

A day in the Backcountry – Golden has more than just amazing resort
skiing, for this activity Higher Ground Sports will outfit the participants with all the safety gear
and backcountry equipment (if required). You will then join an ACMG guide as he takes you
into the backcountry in search is the Champagne Powder that the area is known for. This is
a full day activity and will meet at 8:30am to meet the guide and gather your equipment.
Limit of 4 participants on a first come first serve basis. NOTE: This activity requires an
advanced skiing or snowboarding skill level and prior backcountry experience is a huge
asset.
Fat Tire Biking with Higher Ground Sports – Try one of the newest and fastest growing winter
activities, bike the Moonraker Mountain Bike Trails on a fat tire bike with a guide. 10am
departure from Higher Ground Sports for this 2 hours tour, limited to 2 participants on a first
come first serve basis.
Dog Sledding – Travel back in time to the day of the Dog Sled and explore
the Blaeberry Valley. http://www.goldendogsledadventures.com/ Available for 2
participants on a first come first serve basis – Allow for 4 hrs to complete the tour start time

Dogtooth Indoor Climbing Gym– Introduction to climbing, learn a new
skill and have lots of fun. Beginning at 2pm this 2.5 hour course is taught by an accredited
ACMG instructor. Experienced climbers are also welcome to participate in individual
climbing after passing a belay test. www.dogtoothgym.com
Snowshoe Tour of the Columbia Wetlands – Experience the beautiful
Columbia wetlands by snowshoe. This wilderness paradise located alongside the Columbia
River is home to an amazing variety of wildlife. Your tour will include complimentary show
shoe rentals transportation to and from the wetlands and a fireside lunch. Explore the 5km
with a guide and learn more about what this area has to offer in the summer. This is a brand
new activity in Golden BC so be amongst the first to experience it. Tours start at 10am daily
and last approximately 5 hours including transportation times; it is open to 8 participants per

6:15pm - Shuttle departs for Dine-Around evening with the Kicking Horse Country Chamber
of Commerce at select restaurants
Eleven22 (www.eleven22.ca) - Eleven22 Restaurant is located in a
turn of the century refurbished character home. Once inside, you
are greeted by a cozy atmosphere with local art tastefully
displayed. Chef and owner Konan Mar has thoughtfully created a menu
that will dazzle the taste buds and inspire long conversations over local
B.C. wines. Changing with the seasons, you can expect to find fresh
seafood, homemade pastas and authentic curry and rice bowls. For the
larger appetites, locally sourced pork products and triple ‘A’ beef. Make
sure to take advantage of the assortment of shareable appetizer plates,
multitude of daily specials, and inspired homemade desserts.

Bistro is a casual yet elegant style restaurant serving a modern bistro style
cuisine in the heart of historic Golden BC.
Cedar House Restaurant (www.CedarHouseChalets.com) - The Cedar House
Restaurant provides a unique upscale yet casual fine dining experience for
all. Chef Corey Fraser practices classic yet innovative cooking techniques to
showcase regional flavors and locally grown organic foods including fresh
produce harvested from The Cedar House`s personal garden. With his broad
skill set Chef Corey utilizes seasonal ingredients to reinvent classic dishes and
cater to all dietary needs individually. A contemporary cocktail list, Canadian
craft beer and B.C. wines compliment the seasonal features on the ever

• A Day With Mountain Patrol – For those who want to know what goes into getting a
mountain with so much alpine terrain ready every day, after a storm and for the
season. Spend the day with a patrol member who can talk about the extensive
avalanche mitigation work that goes into getting KHMR ready, (potential for an early
upload to do run check weather permitting). One tour on either the 27 or 28 for no
more than 2 participants must be advanced skiers preferably with backcountry
experience or AST training.

Purcell Heli-Skiing (Extra Cost of $250 per person) – Spend a day with one of the oldest
Helicopter Skiing operations in North America. Purcelll Heli Skiing as family run as it gets with
the founder Rudi Gertsch still extremely involved in the day to day operations. This activity is
reserved for participants with an assignment letter and Purcell Heli Skiing will choose the

Cross Country Skiing at the Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre – We have two options for this
must do activity first a 10:00am tour for beginners where you will learn about the club and
the basic trails. Then at 2:00 pm that afternoon we will let the Intermediate/Advanced skiers
out to see more of the trails on an exploratory mission. This activity includes rentals and tour
with Golden BC’s cross-country ambassador Magi Scallion.

• Beginner - Enjoy a tour of the Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre amenities including their
beautiful log day lodge, large stadium area, and network of beginner trails. The tour
will take approximately 1.5 hours and will be tailored to the average beginner-level
skier. If you don’t care to ski, you can be entertained in the Day Lodge.
• Intermediate / Advanced - After a quick tour of the amenities of the Dawn Mountain
Nordic Centre day lodge, enjoy a longer (1 - 1.5 hour) ski on the trails of this beautiful
facility. Highlighting the best terrain for intermediate skiers and some of the best
viewpoints over the valley, this tour will get your blood pumping and put a smile on
your face.
Snowshoeing with Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre – The Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre in
addition to cross-country ski trails has also been expanding their snowshoeing network.
Located at the base of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort the Dawn Mountain snowshoeing trails
wind through the woods of the Purcell Mountains above Golden BC. This activity will include
rentals and private guide and will have two start times 10am and 2pm.

Purcell Heli-Ski is offering a day of heli-skiing on Thursday, January 28, at discount of $250 for
those that have an assignment letter submitted by November 15, 2015. Purcell will review
applicants and select up to four members they wish to host at this discounted price.

and Golden. It will depart the Calgary Airport at 2:00pm on Jan. 24
and depart Golden at 8:00am on Jan. 29. If you wish to reserve a
