Dear athletes, captains and delegates:
As President of the Spanish Federation of Fishing and Casting I have the honor to greet and welcome young
athletes, their captains and delegates and delegates of the Fips mer, who will come to Castellón, on the beaches
of Grao from 8 to 15 October to celebrate the World Championship Shore Angling U16-U21.
The city of Castellon and its dynamic council has been distinguished by its support for sport as generating activity
values such as effort, self-discipline, respect and social capacity inclusive, which in sport fishing would add
specific values such as respect for aquatic ecosystems and the natural environment, as well as its great social
mainstreaming. That tradition of promoting sport, characterizes Castellón. For that reason, both the Spanish
Federation of Fishing and Casting as the Federation of Fishing of Valencia, are proud and satisfied to have
achieved this World championshipo to be held in the wonderful beaches of Castellón Grao.
Castellón and its coastline is a prime tourist attraction. During these days they can check its climate, its
magnificent beaches, its historical monuments and its excellent and varied cuisine. You yourselves will check
your welcome and hospitality, whenever the fishing world competition calls its doors.
I would also like to publicly thank the Fips mer, its President Hubert Waldheim, my good friends Pierre Biever
and Gilbert Zangerle genuine souls of the Fips mer, as well as my good collaborator José Ramón Aldanondo, who
from the Vice Fips mer has helped to get this World Championship for Spain. Without forgetting the recognition
and support that the Supreme Council for Sport has always provided to our sport.
But I wouldn,t want to end these lines of salutation and welcome without expressing my satisfaction, my
appreciation and sincere thanks to the Federation of Fishing of Valencia, for its dynamism, its good management
and brilliant promotion of sport fishing, which makes one of the main pillars of the Spanish Federation of Fishing
and Casting (FEPYC). From here I want to thank your entire organization, all its efficient and enthusiastic
employees, and particularly for this event, the Delegation of Castellón, in the person of Juan Antonio Barreda,
and the President of the Autonomous Federation and great friend Mr. José Segura Barbacil. With their effort,
this World Championship shine with light. Of that I'm sure.

Welcome everyone to the province of Castellon, a welcoming and diverse land
with high mountains overlooking the sea. As maritime province is an honor for
us to host the XXV World Championship Shore Angling U-16 and the XVI World
Championship Shore Angling U-21.
Fishing figures prominently in the history of the place and Valencian society,
especially in the province of Castellon. An art and a job that has been the
cornerstone of progress of many of our people and the future of our ancestors.
Historically, Castellón County Council and the identity of our territory have gone
hand in hand, because we are aware that our reason for being passed to help
our peoples and thus defend the traditions.
Therefore, this job, now a complex sports practice, could have no other
response from the provincial institution that our sincere support and
cooperation. Thanks to the organizers for thinking Castellón for this
international event, and thanked the participants for making us enjoy this
unique sport.

DISCOVERING CASTELLÓN
Castellon covers the territory to the north of Valencia, along which a coastline of 120 kilometers
of beautiful beaches extending many of them with the Blue Flag awarded by the Foundation for
Environmental Education in Europe , beaches such as Peñiscola, Alcocebre, Oropesa, Benicassim,
Castellon, Burriana and Almenara, give witness to this.
Castellon has natural parks that still preserve untouched, such as the Natural Park of the Sierra de
Irta in the coastal municipalities of Peñiscola, Alcala de Xivert and Alcossebre, and the Natural Park of
El Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca coastal areas.
Notably another natural park in the Sierra de Espadán, water nourishes the longest navigable
underground river in Europe the San José de la Vall d'Uixo, you can enjoy a pleasant boat trip. In
addition to these natural areas, Castellón has the columbretes islands, formed by a series of volcanic
islets, a short distance from the coast, offer unique spaces for its spectacular.
Castellon, despite being a seamstress, is the second most mountainous of Spain and it is the peak
Penyagolosa, with a height of 1,813 meters, is the roof of the Valencian Community. In the north of
the province is the region of Els Ports, whose capital is Morella, a medieval walled city, with intense
and important historical legacy. On the border with the province of Tarragona, is La Tinença de
Benifassà, region rich landscape where the National Reserve of the Hispanic Goat Ports of Beceite, so
it is not difficult to see fine examples of this beautiful animal.
Following in the north, in the Baix Maestrat, is Peñiscola, with its impressive castle Papa Luna, where
history, legend and current mix, as it is one of the tourist centers and major leisure Community
Valenciana. Touring the province can also find other historical-artistic as stocks Burriana, Vilafamés,
Wave, Sant Mateu, the historic medieval town of Cati, Segorbe, Villafranca del Cid, Lucena del Cid,
Benicassim, Alcala de Xivert or Jerica among others
Castellón de la Plana is the capital of the province, has a population of 172,000 inhabitants. The
center of your daily life is around the Plaza Mayor, where the Cathedral of St. Mary of the thirteenth
century, rebuilt in the nineteenth after a terrible fire is. Metalwork has XVIII century and paintings by
Ribalta, Oliet or Esteve Bonet -The PurisimaThe Fadrí, bell tower of S. XVI. Cathedral exempt octagonal five bodies consisting of bells and

Museum Contemporary art is important for the variety of funds ceramic housing and the Museum of
Fine Arts, the most important of the province and a landmark in Valencia, has a permanent exhibition
of ceramic funds, religious art, archeology, painting and sculpture.
Castellón opens the Mediterranean, with its sea town, "Grau", an important industrial port
activity both fishing and where you can taste the rich gastronomy Castellon rice being the main
element, treated with care and according to tradition old, paella, arroz a banda, rice with galleys and
crabs, "arrós Negre" with sepia, arrosejat ... without forgetting the "fideuá".
World Championships Shore Angling U16 and U-21, are convened by the International Federation
of Sea Fishing (FIPS-mer), organized by the Spanish Federation of Fishing and Casting (FEPyC), Federation
of Fishing Valencia (FPCV) Sports and Cultural Club, under the supervision of the International Committee
of the Specialty.

COMPETITION VENUE
Pinar and Gurugú beaches
Pinar beach starts on the northern edge of the Port of Castellón and the first stretch reaches the
crossroads de la Plana, is a sandy beach shallow and small waves.
Gurugú beach is known the existing stretch of coast between the Camino Castellon de la Plana to the
mouth of Rio Seco. It is a long and wide beach, which has its back the promenade that flanks the road
between Castellón and Benicàssim.

BAITS
It allowed only supplied by the Organization and likely consist of 5 boxes of worm beach and Korean.
ANTHEM AND FLAG
The participating teams are responsible for delivering the organizer the flag of their country and a CD
with the national anthem.
MEDICAL CERTIFICATES
The participating teams are responsible for the data provided to the Organizer regarding individual
medical certificates, whenever one of the official languages of the CIPS.
SCORING SYSTEM
Scores for qualifying the results in the Competition will be by assignment of a point per gram of the
total weight obtained from control and weighing, always respecting the minimum size of each species
(Appendix I)
