Captive breeding programs may be their only hope for survival. When you see this symbol at an exhibit, you know the staff is cooperating with zoos and aquariums throughout North America to breed and manage these animals. If and when the world’s natural habitats can be secured or restored, descendants of these animals will repopulate the wild.
