Chennai 16th August 2009 P.P. Venkat launches devotional album `Emberumanae' CHENNAI, August 16: A devotional album titled `Emberumanae' was released here on August 14 by the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Surjit Singh Barnala. It is a collection of 10 devotional songs. Twenty-two Carnatic ragas have been employed in this album of Mr. P.P. Venkat, who has sung a number of devotional numbers. `Emberumanae' is the eighth album of Mr. Venkat, who is also a senior executive of Reliance Industries. Playback singer P.B. Srinivas and Carnatic vocalists Smt. Sudha Raghunathan and Shri. Neyveli Santhanagopalan were guests of honour on the occasion. The lyrics for the album were written by V. Elango and Kaathalmathi. The music was scored by Regi Anand. The album contains songs on Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu. The album was released by Governor of Tamil Nadu Surjit Singh Barnala. This is Venkat's eighth devotional album. "Emberumanae" is a collection of ten devotional songs and 22 Carnatic raagas have been used to compose these lyrical masterpieces. V Elango and Kaathal Mathi have penned the lyrics while Regi Anand has scored the music. PP Venkat has also written three songs and tuned them himself. The album is marketed by Vishnu Creations, Selaiyur, and Chennai. Eminent personalities like Dr. PB Srinivas, Neyveli Santhanagopalan, Smt. Sudha Raghunathan, together with many distinguished names from the film industry graced the occasion. While speaking at the function, the Governor congratulated PP Venkat and the entire team who worked in this album. A chance meet with India's leading business baron, Mukesh Ambani, has left Sundar euphoric. Sharing this incident exclusively with Top 10 cinema he recalls, “It was the most inspiring moment of my life.” Telling us how it happened he says, “I had gone to the Reliance office in Mumbai to meet PP Venkat. He has sung devotional music earlier and is the new playback singer I am introducing in ‘Agam Puram’. Venkat happens to work at Reliance in Mumbai. Thanks to providence, I was able to meet Mr Mukesh Ambani himself in a most unexpected way . I was floored by his simplicity and warmth.” Sundar recalls Ambani’s words to him, “I have heard about your songs and earlier works. I wish you do Hindi movies soon.” A nervous but ecstatic Sundar replied, “May your words come true” and then had a rare photo clicked as well. “He led me to the room where his father Dhirubhai Ambani’s portrait hung and gave me the rare opportunity of having a picture clicked with all three of us in it. It’s a most inspiring and unforgettable experience for me,” says Sundar. Sundar feels that the meeting has taught him a lot. “His dedication and passion to do things perfectly has re-inforced the passion for work within me as well. His warmth and care during the meeting despite a schedule that involves running a multi-crore empire, has left a lasting impression on me.” Who knows this stroke of luck may be a precursor to scaling greater heights in his music career as well. Art & Culture Gaanamani TMS creates ripples in Tollywood By Deepak Arora CHENNAI, Aug 27: Gambhira Gaanamani P P Venkat (popularly known as TMS) has entered into the Tollywood as playback singer with a super hit Tamil song for the forthcoming Tamil film "Agam Puram" directed by Thirumalai featuring Shyam and Meenakshi in the lead roles. Music Director Sundar C Babu has introduced P P Venkat in this film as playback singer with a song "Orumani Rendumani". Lyrics for the song have been penned by film lyricist and a practicing lawyer V. Elango. The audio release was held here today and was attended by top people from the film industry. Venkat hopes that this song would be a super hit and would be a stepping stone in his life as a playback singer. He says: "I am open to offers from Tamil film or any other language (as he speaks as many as seven languages with ease) as Music Director." P P Venkat has released eight devotional albums on various Hindu Gods and has given lot of light music/ devotional songs performances in India and abroad. His recent album on Lord Vishnu "Emberumanae" was launched by the Tamil Governor, Mr Surjit Singh Barnala, at Raj Bhavan on August 14 and around 25,000 copies have already been sold.
