These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. deu•ter•on•o•my SIX FIFTY-NINE 4 DEAR FR • AMILIES, I’m so glad you decided to make the trip to Fr•amily Camp! Summer can be incredibly busy, and it likely took some real effort to get here. I’ve never regretted setting time aside for my family and I to focus on our relationship with God, and I have no doubt that you’ll feel the same! This is our second year at SpringHill, and I love the fact that we’re not only coming together as individual friends and families, but as a church family! How cool is that?! I’m excited about the memories that you will make this weekend, the fun that you’ll have and the experiences you’ll have together. From the music to the teaching to the many activities you can enjoy together, you’ll have countless opportunities to engage with God, your family, and your friends. My prayer is that you’re fully engaged this weekend. That you’ll leave here on Sunday feeling refreshed, connected to your fr•amilies, and inspired to continue making God the center of your lives. Learn more about their ministry at HomeImprovementMinistries.org 6 THE BIRDSONGS The Birdsongs are a Christian Alternative Rock/Power Pop band originally from Seattle, WA, now living near Knoxville, TN, composed of four brothers, their sister, and their father. As a band, they have maintained a constant touring presence and have become increasingly popular at festivals, events, and churches. In recent years, they have shared the stage with artists such as The Newsboys, Sanctus Real, RED, Rush of Fools, Everyday Sunday and Fireflight. At their live shows, whether rocking out in front of thousands or leading worship at a small church, the band always displays their passion for spreading the gospel and making Jesus famous. Lead singer Benjamin Birdsong, shares his insight into the band’s heart, “What we do around the country and onstage is just an extension of who we are in Jesus Christ. We want to be totally honest and real about who we are and who God is. We’re not seeking fame or fortune. On the contrary, we’re passionate about spreading the gospel and pointing people to Christ. We want to serve Him with our lives and this is the ministry God’s equipped us for!” DAVID LAFLIN Since 2002, internationally recognized illusionist David Laflin has entertained and inspired audiences all across the United States and in several foreign countries through his creative blend of both classic and cutting-edge illusions. His programs have been featured at numerous conferences and conventions throughout the world and have reached large-scale audiences through his television appearances. Through his illusions, the reality of the love of God is revealed in a way that people of all ages connect with. And this, is his ultimate goal. David has a desire to bring families together for an experience they will never forget. An experience that may just change their lives forever. He is sure to bring a smile to your face, laughter to your mouth, and a message for your heart. 7 help•ful HINTS FOR FRAMILIES STUDY THE MAP With more than 900 acres of property, it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself and your family with the camps layout.
