The 1,082 acre Sal J. Prezioso Mountain
Lakes Park is Westchester’s northernmost county park. Acquired by the
county in 1961, it is characterized by a
rugged landscape and native hardwood
forests, rock outcroppings, meandering
streams, beautiful views, the highest
mountain in Westchester County and
quiet trails. Aptly named, the park
boasts five lakes and a spectacular
overlook which makes for breathtaking
hiking destinations.
Activities
Mountain Lakes Park offers the total outdoor experience including camping, fishing, ice skating, hiking, nature exploration, snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing,
boating and a high/low ropes challenge course.
Boating
Row boat rentals are available on Hemlock Lake weekends only Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day, by
appointment only. Call park office for information.
Team Building
In addition to group camping, there is a ropes challenge
course (reservations required) for organized groups. The
course includes a zip line, high and low ropes elements
that accommodate people of all abilities. The elements
foster teamwork through challenging situations in a
safe and a fun environment.
Events
Do you need a place for a party, wedding reception or
other social gathering, or for your school group, organization or company? The spacious and newly renovated
dining hall is available for use by organized groups, accommodating up to 250 people. The commercial
kitchen is available for use only with a licensed caterer.
If you are looking for an even bigger adventure, rent
the yurt village for an overnight and an experience your
group will always remember.
Camping
• Available year-round in open-face lean-tos. Sleeping
capacity is limited to eight people per shelter with the
exception of two sites that can accommodate 16 people. Each shelter has an outside grill for cooking, a designated fire ring for campfires, a picnic table and
portable toilets. (In July - Saturday nights only)
• Individual yurts, our entire yurt village or our camp director’s cabin can be rented daily or weekly from Memorial Day weekend through June and mid-August
through Columbus Day weekend each year. Yurts can
accommodate 10 people and the director’s cabin can
accommodate four. The yurts provide sleeping quarters
with electricity and a newly renovated, centrally located
bathhouse. The director’s cabin offers full amenities, excluding linens, towels, toiletries and food. The yurts and
director’s cabin are not heated.
• Want to stay in the outdoors, but want all of the
amenities of home? Laurel Cottage, located on beautiful Laurel Lake, is available year-round and can sleep
four comfortably (six maximum). The cottage is heated
and has an indoor wood burning stove, an outside fire
ring for campfires, picnic tables, screened-in porch,
deck and a row boat.
Camping permits, available to adults age 21 and older,
are required and issued at the park office.
Camp Morty
revised 9/12

offers a quality outdoor sleepaway camp
