TALIA GOLDSMITH
Goldsmith’s works form part of collections in
South Africa, Israel, Canada and New York. She
has an innate fascination with found materials,
and her focus as an artist is the human condition.
Her two most recent collections of work are
“Kriah” The Ritual of Mourning and Singing
Roots. Both collections have been exhibited
at various venues, including the Old Woman’s
Gaol (Constitution Hill) and The Gavin Project
(Rosebank). Most recently Goldsmith has been
submitted to participate in Dak’ Art Biennale

SIMON MASILO
Born into a family of potters in 1936.
Masilo initially worked only with traditional
Basotho techniques and forms before
beginning to incorporate his own ideas
and contemporary techniques to create
a blend of modern and traditional
pottery. His work appears regularly on
the secondary market and features in
the Corobrik Collection at the Pretoria
Museum.

Daniel Rankadi Mosako has exhibited extensively,
both locally and internationally. His work appears
in various corporate collections including Webber
Wentzel Bowens, Telkom, SASOL, Vodacom,
UNISA, University of Pretoria, University of NorthWest, University of Stellenbosch, Wits, Mercedes
SA, Ekurhuleni Municipality, Pretoria Art Museum,
DBSA, ATC SA, Oliewenhuis Museum, ABSA, and
Ngoma Art Organization in Uganda, and Insaka
art organization in Zambia
Bengu has exhibited regularly in South
Africa, USA and Europe, most recently
exhibited at the Harlem Arts Festival
Chicago and Friends Stuttgart, Germany.
In 2015 she exhibited at the Durban Art
Gallery in South African Art: 21 Years after
Democracy. Her work has featured in
major retrospective exhibitions such as A
Decade of Democracy: Witnessing South
African Art in Boston, Massachusetts, USA,
and Ten Years of Freedom Contemporary
South African Art in Georgia, USA.
Her works are included in important
local and international collections such
as McDonald’s (USA), De Beers (SA),
Sandton Civic Gallery (SA), Musee De la
Civilisations (Canada), Department of Art
and Culture (SA), Rand Merchant Bank
(SA), Canton of Solothurn Government
Offices (Switzerland) and Van Den Ende
Collection (The Netherlands).

THONTON KABEYA
Thonton Kabeya is from The Democratic
Republic of Congo. In 2006 Kabeya won
two awards – the Unaids Award and the
Belgium Council Award, which brought him
to the attention of an international audience.
His work forms part of many private and

Happy Dhlame was born in South Africa.
He was awarded a residency in France
where he completed a scholarship
at the Ecole Supérieure des BeauxArts (Quimper) France and a BFA in
Switzerland at the Ecole Cantonale d’Art
du Valais. Over the last fifteen years he
has exhibited regularly in South Africa,
France, Switzerland and Amsterdam, in
both group and solo exhibitions. His
work appears in private collections across
Europe and South Africa.
Laurel is a South African landscape and still
life artist based in Johannesburg who regularly
exhibits in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Her
paintings and prints are in a number of private
collections in the USA, UK, Germany, Israel and
Africa.

Embassy to exhibit a body of work in

Roelof Rossouw is a painter of figures, city
and landscapes, street scenes, boats and
harbours, architecture, parks and gardens.
He has had 39 solo exhibitions to date
at galleries in Johannesburg, Pretoria,
Cape Town and Stellenbosch, as well as
Cheltenham, UK. He has also participated
in numerous group exhibitions in South
Africa, London, Cheltenham, Glasgow,
Jersey, Galway, Armagh, Montreal, San
Francisco, Miami and New York. Three
of his works were also featured in Clint
Eastwood’s movie Invictus, two of which
the director bought for his personal
collection.
