ABOUT THE FILM
In cooperation with a well-known cameraman Sulejman Mulaomerovic, disabled veteran, D&H
Agency Ltd. from Sarajevo, gladly accepted his idea of producing a documentary consisting of
his footages made in spring of 1993 in Gorazde. Sulejman was the first cameraman who
managed to come to besieged Gorazde from war-torn Sarajevo. His footages from the war-torn
Sarajevo as well as from other areas are used in the film Beneath the Sky. The additional footages
in Sarajevo and Gorazde are used as well.
Sulejman Mulaomerovic is one of the best and the bravest TV B&H cameraman, While doing his
job he has been wounded three times in the past war. Just before being wounded for the
second time, he managed to get enough strength and bravery, and crossing the airfield he got
out of Sarajevo and got to Gorazde on foot over Grebak.
The most common word heard in Gorazde during the winter and spring time of 1993 was
„Grebak”. That hill lies on the southern hillside of Jahorina. Help for Gorazde could come through
this place only with field trucks. And from that place on one could take some flour and food
which could be carried over it by human strength only. The road was about 75 kilometers long,
and huge part of it was more than 1500 meters height above sea-level. Columns of people went
through forests over the mountain pasture grounds. Sulejman Mulaomerovic took the
videotape of Grebak.
Since the situation in Gorazde was more difficult than expected, instead of planned seven he
spent there thirty days, and with his camera he filmed stressful and incredible stories told by
doctors, journalists, soldiers, refugees, children, old men, or simply said people he had met there.
In March 1993 Sulejman met and filmed the participants of this film in Gorazde: doctors, Dr. Izet
Custovic, and Doctor Branislav Kutjelnikov, heroine Sabaheta Cutuk, journalist Azhar Kalamujic.
After that meeting their destinies intertwined and they meet again on making the film BENEATH
THE SKY.
The film was realized by D&H Agency in co-production with BHT 1 and Omanovic Production
from Stockholm (Sweden), with professional consultations by American producer Kate Kenny.
The film is going to have its first run on BHT 1 after formal promotions in Sarajevo and Gorazde,
and then it goes to the festivals of documentaries.
Sinopsis
Outline
The place where the sky is so high and where the ground is hard. There is the war.
„My name is not important. It is not important in which war I was. I could be any man on the
planet. But I wasn’t. I was a war cameraman, This could be any war, but it wasn’t. It was the war
in my country.
„Son....ground is hard, and sky is high…” says this old man and I force my self not to move my
hand. Because being a man is not the same thing as being a war cameraman.
I am a war cameraman. In order to film a story about sufferings I went from one besieged city to
another one, While every body held their heads bent I was filming. All those footages I made can
only stand beneath the sky. And I was there.
Background
Camera is not a binocular, nor a rifle.
The thing that makes a war cameraman brave and calm in the appearance is his different
position against the world which surrounds him and which he does not see as the other people
would, but he sees it though his camera. It is this fact that isolates him from the surrounding,
gives him the impression of protection, and very often can take him to dangerous situations
which board with madness. That sense of saturation with camera, the sense of being enclosed
and protected by it, just like the solider in pillbox or tank, who is watching the enemy armored
by steel and concrete through tiny window, This is that additional danger which is as real as the
real enemy.
Why?
The story we are telling you is about human bravery. It is a true story about human fight for life.
The truth is the essence of the documentary. This is not any story about truth. This is not just a
story about a war cameraman. This is the story about the people who were fighting. This is the
story about people filmed by a war cameraman.
This is the story about the people and the war, just what they are like. Both the people and the
war.
Package
Documentary, colour, duration 40 minutes, with the narration in present which follows the
thoughts of “war cameraman”, combined with the archive footage from the war in Bosnia and
Herzegovina.

ABOUT THE PRODUCERS
PRODUCER
D&H AGENCY Ltd. SARAJEVO
D&H Agency Ltd. consists of well-known names from the world of media and marketing
business who decided to fill weak holes in the public area when it comes to public relations,
media planning, organization of different events, design and corporative communication. Years
of experience in managing marketing department for many world-known brands and successful
organization of dozen promotional activities inspired Sidika Dukatar and Mirsada Hota-Emric to
establish their own firm in 2008. In this agency they would be able to do the same job “without
limits”. Since the agency deals with public relations as a very interesting and needed
communication discipline in b&h. business reality, it employs the best PR practitioners,
journalists, editors and cameramen.
Collaboration and friendship with a well-known b&h cameraman Sulejman Mulaomerovic in
April 2010 made the agency to accept a new challenge, the idea to film and produce
documentary based on his war footages from Gorazde and Sarajevo. Their wish to show the
wider audience happenings in B&H in a different way, from another perspective, with great
enthusiasm, and effort, resulted in producing the documentary Beneath the Sky helped by their
co-producers.
CO-PRODUCER
BHT 1
BHT 1 is a National TV of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their aim is to become a real Bosnian and
Herzegovinian television, and to be gladly accepted by every household in Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
Thanks to Haris Kulenovic, editor in chief BHT1 documentary program and deceased manager of
BHT1, Vladimir Bilic, in May of 2010, cooperation and co-production of documentary BENEATH
THE SKY, was accepted.
For the needs of this project, co-producer of the film, BHT1 gave access to their techniques and
professional resources, as well as archive footages made by Sulejman Mulaomerovic, who has a
long experience as a cameraman of this house.
CO-PRODUCENT
OMANOVIC PRODUCTION
Twin brothers, Mak and Adi Omanovic, born in Sarajevo 1985, moved to Sweden in 1991 and
filmed their first short film in 2000. Both of them studied Engineering and hold Masters Degree
of Media Technology at the Royal Institute for Technology in Stockholm. They established their
own production house Omanovic Production in 2007. They deal both with the production of
their own projects and co-production works on the other projects. Their expertise is directing
and script development, but they also deal with management production, montage and service
of digital filming.
In August 2010 they worked on professional consultations for the documentary BENEATH THE
SKY, and they are offered to do the co-production with the aim of finalizing the film. This made
this film an international, but still absolutely Bosnian.
Productions
By this time they have produced over ten short films and many commercials. They took part in
over 50 domestic and international festivals and won many important awards.
Omanovics’ perception of future
Apart from their wish to rule the world and „red carpets”, Omanovics want all the fame, too.
They also want to produce feature films and documentaries for the world market, whether with
more or less famous people, but always with significant stories. Their growing up in war, living in
West, and their unique “four-eyed” view on the world, will help them in searching stories which
nobody would ever able to find of film. It has been a great privilege for them to work on the film
and to tell stories. This is the reason they would invest their days, nights, holidays in order to tell
one great story which has never been told by anyone.
