A journey that will take you through Italy’s “gastronomic” heart. A destination renowned for its refined cuisine and several stunning ingredients among which the highly praised white truffles and Barolo wines. Piemonte: Where Italian gastronomy began! You will arrive in Torino, arguably Italy’s gastronomic capital, and indulge in the city unmatchable food offer. A chef will be waiting for you to take you around the city and make you discover the many culinary traditions among which charming cafes and fascinating food shops. You will then then head south towards the countryside in the famous Langhe area. You will spend the next to days in a stunning property with incredible facilities including state of the art spa and a fine dining restaurant. A chance to discover the stunning beauty of the Langhe area and sample some of the most exclusive products such as Barolo wines and white truffles from Alba. The next 2 nights will be spent in a another beautiful property situated approx. 40 minutes from Barolo, a great location full of incredible restaurants and home to another great wine: Barbaresco. Final stop will be in the Alessandria area, a hidden gem equally rich of great products and beautiful landscape that will make you discover that Piemonte is not only about red wines! Piemonte: Where Italian gastronomy began! ‡ Day 1 Arrive in Torino: you will head immediately to your hotel in the center of town. After having dropped your luggage, you will go for lunch in a local trattoria and get a first taste of the regional cuisine. Afternoon: A chef will be waiting for you to take through a gastro tour of Torino where you will be visiting the many food and wine shops and relax in one of the main historic cafes, enjoy one of many type of coffees or their famous Gianduja chocolate. Dinner: you will be having dinner in the beautiful castle of Rivoli where the 2 Michelin star chef will delight you with his thrilling cuisine while enjoying the views of the city. Piemonte: Where Italian gastronomy began! ‡ Day 2 Morning: you will be invited to the chef’s place where after having given you an introduction to the region’s products and gastronomic history, you will cook up together a fabulous meal paired with a great selection of local wines. Afternoon: you will leave the city of Torino and will start heading towards your hotel in the magical Langhe area. On your way you will visit a charming museum situated in an historical location where you will get an understand of the strong traditions of viticulture that this region has been having for centuries. After the visit you will be relaxing and enjoying one the many state of the art facilities. Dinner: you will have dinner in a charming local family run restaurant where you will be sampling the authentic “cucina Langarola”. Piemonte: Where Italian gastronomy began! ‡ Day 3 Morning: a unique experience, a foodie’s dream, you will go truffle hunting! With the help of a “Tartufaio” and his dog you will be looking for that precocious product, a fantastic and unique opportunity! Lunch: Truffles will be the star of the meal: the truffles you found will be used to make an unforgettable lunch entirely dedicated to this fantastic tuberos. Afternoon: you will get the chance to visit one the most traditional and considered producers of Barolo, also known as the “king of wines”, and get a taste of different vintages and wines from different plots. At the end of the visit you will have a fun and entertaining wine related activity where a “wine narrator” will explain to you the history and characteristics of this fantastic wine in a very playful way. Dinner: you will be dining in the fantastic gastro restaurant of your hotel where delightful classical cuisine is matched with a first class service. Piemonte: Where Italian gastronomy began! ‡ Day 4 Morning: you will visit the stunning Grinzane di Cavour castle, a beautiful building full of history that was once home to some of the most important people in Piemonte. Inside you will also have to chance to visit the private cellar and buy from the shop which has the largest selection of local wines in the region. Lunch: you will head to the renowned town of Alba, famous for its white truffles where you will be having lunch in what is currently considered one of the best 5 restaurants in Italy and that recently got its third Michelin star. Modern and creative cuisine that will take you far away with ingredients from all over the world and suddenly back in the heart of Piemonte. Afternoon: after lunch you will be moving on to your next hotel: a true gem in the heart of the wine production area. You will relax in the beautiful hotel famous for its medical spa and many 5 star facilities among which a true “gastronomic temple”. Dinner: you will be dining in the fantastic restaurant of the hotel, very famous for its truffle menu. Piemonte: Where Italian gastronomy began! ‡ Day 5 Morning: a free morning where you can choose various activities such as using the amazing spa, visiting a cheese producer, a wine producer, a flour and wheat producer from on old natural mill or playing golf in the neighboring course. Lunch: you will head towards Barbaresco to visit another great producer of this noble red wine. On the way you will have a “gourmet stop” in a fastastic one Michelin star restaurant famous for its balanced cuisine, beautiful terrace and incredibly extensive wine list. Afternoon: you will go to Barbaresco where you will be visiting a fantastic estate that belongs to a traditional royal Piemontese family where you will be breathing history while tasting their many wines among which the much praised Barbaresco. Dinner: you will have dinner in the hotel, either in the gourmet restaurant or a more informal dinner can be arranged in their wine cellar. Piemonte: Where Italian gastronomy began! ‡ Day 6 Morning: you will head to a historic and charming winery to discover another of Piemonte many stunning red wines: Barbera. Lunch: you will head to the city of Alessandria in a rustic yet refined restaurant where you will be sampling local cuisine. Afternoon: After lunch, you will move down to the Gavi area, famous for their white wines where you will be staying in a boutique “wine hotel” run by a wine producer. Dinner: you will have dinner in the hotel enjoy a meal in their beautiful restaurant. A great chance to sample the refined and authentic cuisine from this part of the region. Piemonte: Where Italian gastronomy began! ‡ Day 7 Morning: for shopping lovers, you will go to Serravalle Outlet, a fantastic outlet with premium and luxury brands where you will be able to shop at a discounted price. Lunch: you will head east to Novi Ligure and have lunch a in cute Agriturismo and sample in house wine production which is very well respected in the area for its high quality and applying biodynamic viticulture. Afternoon: head either to Milano or Torino airport
