INTRODUCTION
Soccer Footwear Overview booklet is an illustrated guide of all most popular soccer cleats
currently on the market. A brief description of each model includes the most important
information needed while searching for the right soccer footwear. It provides an easy way to
compare different models and versions within the same, as well as within different brands.
Also, each boot in this booklet consists my opinion, suggesting which shoe might be most
suitable for different type of players, based on level of play, frequency of use, age...and
price.
Just please remember, there are no strict rules in this matter; these are only my
suggestions.
For example, recommended soccer cleats here for competitive or advanced players are not
forbidden for beginners or recreational players. I just don't think someone who starts
playing soccer or plays it recreationally, needs high-end soccer cleats stuffed with newest
technologies that make them very expensive. But if you have extra money...why not.
The other way around...? Advanced players getting boots for beginners...?
Well, although it won't cripple them I wouldn't suggest it.
I update the booklet frequently, as soon as new models and/or versions are released and/or
some of the older shoes are discontinued and are no longer available for purchase.

Nike Mercurial Vapor SL (super light)
There are two versions of these Nike soccer cleats:
The special, limited edition (only 2000 pairs), designed primarily
for Cristiano Ronaldo and Didier Drogba.
They are almost entirely made of Carbon Fiber and are the lightest
soccer cleats ever (6.7oz. - 190 grams) and one of the most
expensive soccer cleats ever - $400 (crazy).
The second version, which I call 'a public edition' is the
combination of SL's outsole (carbon fiber) and Vapor IV's midsole
and upper (Teijin microfiber).

boots are 'the less expensive version of Mercurial Vapor IV' but
without lace cover they really don't look like Vapors IV.

functions. Simply by mixing and matching their components of
choice, each player can easily build and tune their cleats.
