LICENSING ACT 2003 – CONSIDERATION OF THE GRANT OF A
PREMISES LICENCE

1.0
PURPOSE OF REPORT
1.1
To consider an application for the grant of a premises licence in
respect solely of the supply of alcohol for the above-mentioned
premises.
2.0
DESCRIPTION OF DECISION
2.1
When determining the application the Sub-Committee is requested to
have regard to the representations referred to in paragraph 4.0 below
and to take such steps as they consider appropriate for the promotion
of the licensing objectives. The steps may be: a) to grant the application,
b) to modify the conditions of the licence, or
c) to reject the whole or part of the application.
3.0
INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND
3.1
Relevant representations have been received in relation to the
application and these are detailed at section 4.0.
3.2
A copy of the original application form is attached as Appendix 1.
However, the applicant has amended the requested hours for the
supply of alcohol to 08:00 to 20:00 everyday and the store opening
hours to 06:00 to 20:00 everyday.

CURRENT POSITION
4.1
Representations have been received from Northumbria Police in
relation to this application. A copy of their representations is attached
as Appendix 2.
4.2
Representations have been received from two other organisations.
Copies of these representations are attached as Appendix 3.

To determine the application as requested by section 18(3) of the
Licensing Act 2003.
