Please Join The Friends of WSHU for a Very Special 30th Anniversary Celebration at the New York Botanical Garden SUNDAY, APRIL 6, 2014 • 11:00 AM TO 2:00 PM THE GARDEN TERRACE ROOM, NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN 1984 was a landmark year for WSHU. We became an NPR member station, brought additional broadcast professionals to join our Classical Music Director, and began airing All Things Considered as part of our weekday evening schedule. The Friends of WSHU Public Radio invite you to join us in commemorating three decades of broadcasting excellence and community commitment. This special celebration will feature some of the finest in dining, wine and music. Amid the lush spring foliage of the New York Botanical Garden you will be treated to: A Special Guest Performance Enjoy the music of celebrated jazz vocalist and songwriter Rondi Charleston, with accompaniment by renowned guitarist Dave Stryker. In addition to our program of entertainment, your afternoon will include: A cocktail reception, followed by a plated luncheon catered by Stephen STARR Events A selection of fine wines provided by American Winery of the Year nominee Paumanok Vineyards A silent auction of exceptional items to benefit the Friends of WSHU We know that you share our appreciation for everything that WSHU does–both as a broadcaster and a valued member of our community–and we sincerely hope you will join us on Sunday morning, April 6th, to help mark this milestone in WSHU’s history.
