devices, and getting there
We want you to feel comfortable when attending training. Make a note of
the following guidelines when preparing to attend training.
• Wear your ID badge to training for identification purposes.
• Time clocks are not available in the Support Center or at the
Mission/Pardee location. Follow standard processes to document time
spent in training using the Kronos Exception Sheet and give to your
manager to enter into the Kronos Time & Attendance system.
• Turn electronic devices to ‘stun’ or ‘silence’ during class.
• Power outlets may not be available in the classroom to charge electronic
devices.
• Shuttle service details are explained in each location section of this
document.
• Carpooling is encouraged.
• Mileage to and from class is not reimbursed.
Personal comfort, food, beverages,
and electronic devices
We want you to feel comfortable when attending training. Make a note of
the following guidelines when preparing to attend training.
• Dress in layers to accommodate personal preference.
• Follow Pardee dress code or business casual when coming to class.
• Classrooms are a fragrance-free environment due to health conditions
triggered from sensitivity to scents.
• Food is not permitted in the classrooms.
• Covered beverage containers may be permitted in the classroom.
• Break room space is available if you want to bring food for breaks or a meal.
• Meals are not provided during training.
• The Support Center does not have a cafeteria.

Please remember that parking at the Pardee Support Center is reserved for
team members who work at this location.
• Parking is available at the leased parking lot across from the Bryan Easler Toyota
dealership.
• Pardee shuttle service will transport you between the leased parking lot and the
Pardee Support Center. Support Shuttle phone number: 828.974.4003.
• Shuttle hours: 6 AM to 11:30 PM Monday through Saturday beginning April 18.

• Drive south on N. Justice St to 6th Ave. W

• Turn left onto 6th Ave. W/US 64
• Take the 3rd right onto N. Church St,
(US-25 Business). Continue 0.8 miles.
• Turn left onto Spartanburg Hwy (US-176).
Continue 0.7 miles.
• Turn left onto the gravel road entrance
across from Toyota dealership at
1409 Spartanburg Highway.
• You may also use the entrance at
1460 Old Spartanburg Rd to avoid delays
from busy traffic on Spartanburg Hwy.

• Overflow parking is available at the old Boyd car lot located at 924 Asheville Hwy
adjacent to the Hendersonville High School football field.

What are TDR & ODR?
Technical Dress Rehearsal (TDR)
Operational Dress Rehearsal (ODR)
Network and Equipment Readiness
Over the next few weeks the IT Department will be placing over 2,500 pieces of
equipment in preparation for Epic@UNC.
Please be aware of the preparations listed below for you to complete if IT is replacing
a computer in your work area. The IT Department appreciates you efforts and
assistance to make this a smooth transition.
Machine preparation for replacement:

Delete unnecessary emails from your mail box
Delete unneeded files from your desktop and My documents folder
Remove any personal files i.e. music, photos, or videos
Departmental files should be moved to your S:\ Drive
Sensitive files should be moved to your Y:\ Drive

area surrounding your machine.

Preparing for the TDR in your area
ISD (Information Services Division) will conduct a ‘Technical Dress Rehearsal’ between
April 18 – May 20 to ensure PCs, printers, scanners, etc., connect properly with
Epic@UNC at Go-Live.
The Technical Dress Rehearsal (TDR) team needs access to each piece of hardware in
your work area, clinic, or unit. The team has to visit ALL of our locations and test
thousands of pieces of equipment to ensure readiness for using Epic@UNC.
Please note the following:
• With the exception of immediate patient care, please allow the TDR team to access the
equipment in your area to complete their tasks.
• You do not need to do anything during TDR other than provide access to your equipment. The
TDR team needs approximately 15 minutes with each piece of equipment on each unit to
complete its tasks.
• The TDR team will introduce themselves when arriving in your unit/clinic. When possible, the
team will call ahead to provide advanced notification before arriving. However, there will be
times that the team may show up unexpectedly due to schedule changes/adjustments. We
appreciate in advance your patience and support in these instances.
Preparing for the ODR in your area
After completing Epic@UNC training, you and your coworkers will participate in
’Operational Dress Rehearsals’. We encourage everyone to think of ODR as a mock
go-live.
Dedicating the time and resources to participate in ODRs has proven hugely beneficial
during previous Go-Lives.
This is your opportunity to get in the system and become comfortable using before the
actual go-live June 18.
During the ODR you will mimic a real scenario on a test patient using Epic@UNC in a
copy of the Test environment.
Please note the following:
• Log into Playground using the Training ID and information from class to keep learning.
• ODR is and opportunity to practice workflow before the Go-Live.
• Take the knowledge from training and the readiness visits and apply to a real-life patient
scenario.
• The goal is to test your training, confirm readiness, and generate excitement.
