Working with FLYBOARDING
began when I was the very first
person to set it up in France on
lake "Pont l'Évêque", then in
Guadeloupe,Tahiti, French
Polynesia and finally in Corsica.
I've also worked on megayachts
in Saint Tropez for Franky Zapata,
inventor of this sport, helped to
organize the Flyboard World Cup
in 2013, as well as participated in
the championship.
But, what is Flyboard ?
It's a very simple concept that came from an
interesting idea. The Flyboard is
strapped to the feet of the user
and connected to a jet ski by a
hose. The power of the jet ski
propels the water through the
hose. The water is propelled out
beneath the Flyboard, allowing
the user to fly upwards and above the water.
Who can do it ?
Just about anyone ! However, small children under
the age of 12 generally lack the necessary strength
and size to handle the water pressure. There is no
maximum weight. It's an accessible extreme sport,
and something you must try at
least once in your life ! I now
work in St. Martin at Anse
Marcel Beach where I give
lessons to enthusiasts with my
high end equipment, ensuring
profesionalism and fun. It's a
passion that I'm happy to share for your pleasure and

Thirty 10-year-olds are sitting on
the floor with their eyes wide in rapt
attention. They’re in a primary school
somewhere in the corn-belt of midwest
America, listening to a West Indian telling them the
story of how Compere monkey tricked Brer Alligator. Afterwards, they fire intense questions about the rivers in Guyana, and
where is Guyana, and are the alligators there the same as the
Florida alligators ? Back in the Caribbean, a full house of adults
is roaring an unsolicited chorus : “Who
tell him say dat !” They’re responding to
master storyteller Paul Keens-Douglas.
The accepted “ mother ” of Caribbean
storytellers is the legendary but still active
Jamaican Louise Bennett, lovingly known
as “Miss Lou“, who now lives in Canada.
Miss Lou writes in rhymed verse,
responding to immediate incidents in her
life or what she sees and hears around
her. Her Colonisation In Reverse, about the boat-loads of
Jamaicans and other West Indians who migrated to England
in the 5O's and early 60's and their effect on the British cultural
landscape, and her romantic Love Lettah, are classics.
Anywhere, anytime and everywhere, storytelling strikes
chords of memory, curiosity, intrigue: a whole world of
wonderment. It is the most ancient of arts, as old as mankind.

A Quick Beer
It’s 5pm Friday. I’m wearily driving back from work
dreaming of a quiet, relaxing weekend before it all
starts again on Monday. Picking up my girlfriend,
who conveniently, has also just finished for the
weekend, on impulse I suggest : " Let’s go for a
quick beer...it’s Friday, let’s celebrate ! "
Okay and we both agree, "BUT just the one".
Decisions needed to be made, we are spoilt for
choice here, French or Dutch side ? A brief glance
in the Wa’Appen (available everywhere on the
island ;) ) for the closest happy hours and we head
off for a quick alcoholic beverage after a hard
week's work…8 hours later, still in work clothes
and still having not gone home, we've met friends
everywhere and are in our 6th bar of the evening,
with no sign of departing in the foreseeable future.
So much for a quick beer.

Funny Bunny Easter Hairdo !
Start with a simple ballet bun + a few supplies picked up at your
nearest craft store. The bun itself isn’t
anything fancy. Simply put your girl’s
hair in a pony tail, then wrap the remaining hair around the elastic, twisting as
you go and securing it with bobby pins
around the base.
SUPPLIES YOU NEED to create this
funny bunny hairdo :
Scissors • Large googly eyes • White
pipe cleaners • Pink + White felt •
Bobby Pins • Hot glue gun
HOW TO MAKE THE BUNNY PIECES:
1. For the bunny’s nose, cut a small circle out of pink felt.
2. Next slip the pink felt circle inside a bobby pin.
3. Using a hot glue, glue the pompom to the felt.
4. For the bunny’s ears,
cut out two pieces of white
felt in the shape pictured
below. Also cut 1 piece of
pink felt the same shape,
but slightly smaller, to fit
inside the white pieces.
5.Then bend a white pipe
cleaner in the shape of
the ears. With the ends
sticking out the bottom
slightly, place the pipe
cleaner between the 2 layers of white felt and glue in place. The
pipe cleaner is what helps the ears keep their shape and allows
you to push the ears down into the
hair bun.
6. Glue 2 large eyes made using
cardstock and a black sharpie to 2
bobby pins for the bunny’s eyes.
7. Lastly, cut 3 white pipe cleaners into
3 equal parts for the bunny’s whiskers.
Now that we have all the pieces for
the bunny we are ready to put them in
the hair. With the bun already securely
in place, begin with the bunny’s ears
by slipping them in the top of the bun.
The ears may need to be secured in
place with bobby pins. Next, place the
bunny’s eyes into the top of bun, just
in front of the ears. Add the bunny’s
nose to the centre of the bun.
Finish things off by adding the bunny’s
whiskers sticking out either side of the
bun ;) Have a fun-filled Easter !
