Welcome, Cowboys, Cowgirls and Buckaroos!
Thank you for being a part of the eighth Regulators Reckoning and 2015
Tennessee State SASS Championship at Wartrace. We hope you will find
this a fun shoot and place us on your calendar for next year. The only thing
more important than a “Fun Shoot” is a “Safe Shoot”. Please read the
enclosed information so there is no misunderstanding of the rules for safety.
Remember, THE SPIRIT OF THE GAME PREVAILS!
This match is sanctioned and sponsored by SASS, the Single Action
Shooting Society. SASS guidelines will be strictly enforced.
Each competitor is responsible for his or her competence with firearms, as
this match is not designed to be a beginner’s match. You are a safety officer,
responsible for your conduct, your guest’s conduct and others within your
influence. You must always follow range rules.
Spectators, please be aware of these range rules: Alcoholic beverages allowed
only at the Friday night dinner. Ear and Eye protection is mandatory within
line of sight of the shooting areas. ONLY REGISTERED SHOOTERS AND
VENDORS WITH BADGES MAY WEAR FIREARMS.
The Friday night dinner is held on the range at 5:00 pm. We will have door
prizes and Side Match awards on Friday night. We do allow adult beverages
at the Friday night dinner. It is BYOB. No guns, please. If we experience
bad weather the Friday night dinner will be held at Arrowhead Ranch.
The Saturday night banquet and awards dinner will be held at the Bell
Buckle Cafe Banquet Hall. Directions are in your shooters packet. Social
hour begins at 6:30 pm. It is BYOB. Dinner begins at 7:00 pm. No guns,
please.
The information presented in this handbook is subject to change. So please
listen to the announcements and verbal instructions from the Match Director,
Safety Officers, and Stage Drivers.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
 No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the property.
(Allowed only during Friday night dinner.)









No one will be allowed to shoot if, in the judgment of the range officer,
they are impaired.
All shooters must be SASS members in good standing.
Pistols must be holstered and actions open on long guns at all times off
the firing line.
Firearms may only be loaded when at the loading table and on the
firing line.
All shooters and spectators must wear ear and eye protection.
All shooters are expected to be familiar with all SASS RULES.
All shooters must abide by the decision of the range officer.
Unsafe firearm handling will not be tolerated.
Please don’t throw your cigarette butts on the ground. Cowboys and
Cowgirls don’t litter.

The stage drivers are a hand-picked crew assigned to monitor the
individual events and ensure consistency from posse to posse. They
will not run the stages, but will observe. The stage drivers’
instructions as to the rules and procedures for each stage are binding
even if they seem in conflict with the written description.
The schedule assumes there are three minutes “Beep to Beep” for each
shooter, including all the overhead of understanding the stage;
checking the targets for correct alignment; getting folks loaded; etc.
Our shooting schedule on Friday and Saturday will allow time between
individual shooters for brass pickup as long as shooting is not delayed.
Brass or shot shells beyond the firing line CANNOT be retrieved.
This notice is to inform all participants and spectators that your
picture may be published in the newspaper or other publications. If
you have objections to this, please inform us at the check-in station.
Photos remain the property of the Wartrace Regulators with all
publication rights. So remember to smile, you may be on camera.
2015 RANGE RULES AND SCORING
Wartrace Regulator Range Rules
 This is a muzzle up action open range as soon as weapons
are removed from the case and until replaced back in the
case. If you want to show someone your guns please do so at
an unloading/loading table keeping the muzzle pointed down
range.






Eye and ear protection must be worn by shooters and spectators while
standing behind the firing line.
When you have your guns loaded at the loading table we ask that you
do not leave the table until you are called to the firing line.
Gun malfunctions on the firing line are the shooters responsibility to
clear or hand off the gun.
Pistol or rifle round over the berm is a MATCH DQ at the Wartrace
Regulator Range.

Prior to pulling off their first heist, the Bandidas reviewed the rules for
robbing a train. “Trust your partner with your life,” they recall. And
remember the first rule to robbing a train. “No one gets killed.”

BEGIN standing between coal car and engine with one hand touching coal
car rail, other hand touching cab. Pistols are holstered. Rifle is staged on

Maria and Sara planned out the perfect heist. Robbing the payroll stored at
the depot seemed too easy. But as soon as they enter the depot, Maria fires a
shot into the air, giving up their element of surprise. “What are you doing?”
exclaimed Sara. Maria replied, “Saving time.”

Finally tracking down the man who killed her father, Sara has Tyler Jackson
square in her sights. She questions her partner whether or not she will get a
bad reputation for shooting people. “No,” Maria replies. “It will add to your

With everything prepared, the Bandidas left their horses at the Livery and
did one final check prior to pulling off their heist. Remembering the trouble
they got into last time, Maria scolded her horse. “Stay put. And stop
flirting!”

Realizing they lack all the skills necessary to be great bank robbers, the
Bandidas enlisted the help of a retired, Texas bank robber named Bill Buck.
Bill first takes them to the corral for some target practice, but soon realizes
that they need a lot more work. “Before you kill your dog,” he lectured,
“let’s try something else.”

differences as they began to reminisce about some of the heists they pulled
off. Recalling one of their better con jobs, Maria complimented her partner
saying “You were a beautiful widow.” “Well,” Sara replied, “black is a
flattering color.”

As the Bandidas began to pull off their biggest hold up to date, Sara watched
from across the street as Maria walked towards the Jersey Lilly to steal
anything of value. “It’ll never work,” she thought. “She’s wearing the
wrong shoes!”

With the odds against them, and their options running thin, Maria grapples
with the irony of their situation. She finally comes to the realization that the
Bandidas are “A gun happy farm girl, an ugly dog, an overly friendly horse,
and a spoiled brat.” Realizing that they might not be too bad off after all, she
exclaims, “What a team.”

are holstered. Rifle is staged on center table in door. Shotgun is staged on
left or right window shelf.

the two rifle targets with alternating single taps for 10 rounds. Make

Distraught over the death of her father, Maria devises a plan to rob the Wells
Fargo Bank and use the loot for transportation back to Europe. Realizing
that Sara is already in the process of robbing the bank, the two ladies begin
to argue. Wanting to get rid of Sara so she can finish the robbery, Maria
finally explains “It’s taken. Find another one.”
Ammo: 10 Pistol, 10 Rifle, 4+ Shotgun.

psychosomatic symptoms originating from her nervousness. Realizing that
no one will take them seriously, Maria begins to chastise her friend trying to
get her to stop. “I can’t help it,” Sara explains. “Hiccup!”
