Preparation phase
12.11.13
At this meeting Mrs Hochguertel gave us instructions and we had rehearsed our
text for our play
“The Fairy

Erlensee”.

We had to find a good way to welcome our guests. It was necessary to o find a
way to give everyone a very warm welcome. At this point we didn’t know exactly
which persons will arrive in Erlensee and who has to welcome them.

At this funny meeting we had prepared signs for the begin meeting. At this signs
were our names.

This Tuesday we prepared our text and I had to assemble the formatters for our
guests.
21.11.13
This meeting we made our things for the first Comenius meeting. With bottle
caps we created the name of the participant countries of this Comenius project
on signs. Also we did a big “Welcome“ sign. All signs were done with coloured
recycled bottle caps.

This day we met extracurricular, because we had to fix the bottle caps on the
signs with glue.

25.11.13
This Monday we had also an extracurricular meeting to rehearse our text. We
also prepared the exercise books for the tour of our school and also we prepared
the buttons with the names for our guests.

This day the teams with the play and the presentation did their final rehearsal.

2.12.13, Monday
The first day of our meeting with presentations and a flash mob
In the morning our guests and some teachers had to do refreshing yoga.
After this and a little break the teams did their presentations. Our team started
to present. We had prepared a play about Erlensee, and a presentation about the
area around Erlensee.
At first we presented our little play and then a second team showed the
presentation. But before we started to present we gave our guests a warm
welcome. After our presentation it was the turn of the Italian team but they had
technical problems with the internet, so team Czech Republic took their place.

After their presentation the Spanish team started. After them team Turkey
started, because the problem wasn´t fixed.
Then team Italy could start, because the problem was now fixed.
During the presentations was a little flash mob of our dance course.
After finishing the presentations we went out of the teacher’s room and two
German students and one German teacher showed the teams our school. First
every team went to the school garden that was financed by the last Comenius
project. After visiting our school garden each team went to another place. For
example the team Czech went to the gyms. During the tour the teams visited
e.g. our science rooms or our computer rooms.
When each team was at the canteen we had lunch there together. After lunch the
students had to go home or they went back to their classes.
3.12.13, Tuesday
Rope skipping and Play-Room
For the teams the day started with yoga.
After a break for the guests, for changing clothes or having a shower, was a
presentation about rope skipping. This presentation was done by class 9c.
The next activity on the agenda was playing games together in the Play-Room.
At the beginning we were divided in teams by Mrs Hochguertel, but later we
played in groups with each of our guests. There we played games like chess,

table tennis,
billiard
and table soccer
together with our guests.
There we had a lot of fun and we had also some new experiences, for example
that the Spain guys are very fast at table soccer.
After this we went back into the teacher’s room to build shopping teams. Mrs
Hochguertel divided us to the different national teams. The students didn’t know
what the team wanted to buy, before they was in the shop.

When we had built the teams we went into a shop near our school. We shopped
ingredients for the cooking duel next day. Each team needed different
ingredients. Some teams bought too much, because there weren’t other
packaging sizes of the ingredients, so the teams shared their fixings. When we
went back into the school and had stored them we had lunch. After lunch the
teams got some free time and the students went home.
5.12.13, Thursday
Dance, sCOOLbar and a farewell party
After Yoga everybody was invited to a dance rehearsal of the dance course.
After the dance show we were invited to the sCOOLbar to eat, drink and talk a
little bit with the team who is running this little enterprise. The team of the
sCOOLbar had prepared cotton candy and non alcoholic drinks for us.
Then the students had to go into their classes for one hour and after this we had
a Christmas meal together in our school canteen.

In the evening we invited our guests to a Farewell Party, because we had so
much fun with the teams that we wanted to crown the week with this party. At
this party we sang karaoke, played games and ate a little bit. The food was
presented on a buffet, so everyone could find his/her favourite food.
One game we played was “Montagsmaler” (win, lose or draw), the rules of the
game are: two teams have to guess what one person of their team is drawing on
a board, it was a word that the drawer got by the Mr Bürkle). When it took too
long to guess the word Mr Bürkle said stop guessing and the point was lost for
the guessing team. Then the other team got the chance to guess the word, but
they had only one try.
The next point on our party-plan was singing together karaoke. Each group
presented a well known song.

Team Spanish sang Chiquittita (Abba) together with two
Spanish speaking students
One song the students sang during karaoke was “We are the champions”.
Later we had Secret Santas for each others.
This evening was very funny for everyone and a perfect GOODBYE for everyone.
