The Motorsport Collector 5120 Belmont Road, Suite L, Downers Grove, Illinois 60515 2003 Holiday Newsletter www.motorsportcollector.com - Serving Serious Enthusiasts Since 1985 - We've got the Good Stuff ! 1/18 Scale Carousel 1 DAN GURNEY'S 1967 BELGIAN GP WINNER! Perhaps the most exciting die cast model release of 2003 is Carousel 1's 1/18 scale replica of Dan Gurney's 1967 Belgian Grand Prix winning Eagle - Weslake, the most famous car in the history of American Grand Prix racing. In 1964 Gurney, along with Carroll Shelby, formed All American Racers to produce American built cars for Indianapolis and Formula 1. In 1966, the F1 Eagle made its debut, powered by a 4 cylinder Coventry Climax engine when their own Weslake V-12 wasn't ready. Teething problems plagued the Eagle Weslake V-12 package during the 1966 season, but 1967 began with a victory in the non-championship Race of Champions at Brands Hatch. At Spa in Belgium on June 18, Dan Gurney and his Carousel 1's 1/18 Scale Eagle did what no American had done since Dan Gurney Spa Eagle Jimmy Murphy and his Duesenberg won the $129.95 plus shipping. French Grand Prix in 1921 - he won a European Grand Prix race in an American car. A feat that has not been repeated since! Gurney did it in dramatic fashion, setting an outright lap record of 148.85 mph over the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Carousel 1 worked closely with Dan Gurney's All American Racers to produce a faithful reproduction of one of the most handsome cars in Formula 1 history and the results are obvious. This is perhaps the best model Carousel 1 has produced to date. Production of the Spa winning Eagle is limited to 9,999 pieces. Reserve yours today! $129.95 plus shipping.
