Garden Expo 2009: Think Green!
Escape winter’s snow and ice by exploring Garden Expo’s spring-like festivities.
• Nonprofit groups specializing in mulching,
various plant species, and rain and rock gardens will have booths on the vendor floor.
• Appearances by Master Gardener Shelley
Ryan, producer and host of WPT’s The
Wisconsin Gardener.
• The WPT booth will have information about
other WPT activities. The Wisconsin Gardener
apparel and raffle tickets for garden-related
prizes also will be available for purchase at the
WPT booth.
The sights and scents of spring will fill the
Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center in
Madison during the 16th-annual Garden Expo.
Event hours are: 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13;
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14 and 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15.
WPT and UW-Extension/Cooperative
Extension Horticulture Team host this
community educational event and fundraiser
based on WPT’s The Wisconsin Gardener program. Proceeds support WPT’s quality programming and outreach events that serve to enrich
the Wisconsin community.
The event features the latest in lawn and garden tools, gadgets, information and advice from
experts.
Garden Expo highlights include:
• More than 100 free educational seminars and
demonstrations on lawns, gardens, landscape
design and related topics.
• A 1,200-square-foot central-garden display
sponsored by the Wisconsin Landscape
Contractors Association (WLCA).
• Hundreds of exhibitor booths selling seeds,
books, tools, lawn equipment and other
exciting merchandise.

Tickets for Garden Expo are $6 in advance
($7 at the door). Children 12 and under are
free. Two-day passes are available for $10 both
in advance and at the door. The Alliant Energy
Center charges an additional fee for parking.
