Family Communion Breakfast

Enjoy a breakfast buffet this Mother’s Day morning with your
parish family and be part of the Holy Name Society’s Good Cause
Giveaway. Meet and hear the winners read their winning essays and
collect their prizes in our annual Essay Contest. Checks will also be
distributed to many other worthy organizations made
possible by our yearlong fund raising efforts. The Holy Name
Society provides support to the School, Youth Program, Youth Ministry, Veterans, Scouting Program, Fay Cassato Scholarship
and Vincent DePaul/Food Pantry.
This is the third year, of the long-time past-president, Sal Iacullo
Scholarship Fund to help a graduating 8th grader entering a Catholic
high school.

Spirito creatore, plasmandomi nel seno materno ha posto
in me il seme della fede, lo spirito profetico e la chiamata
ad essere tutto tuo e a portare te a tanti fratelli.
"Tu mi hai sedotto e io mi sono lasciato sedurre", nulla ho
tenuto per me. Per te e per tutti ho voluto, e voglio,
essere un dono. Tutto ho posto sull'altare. Ma
l'invecchiare non porta automaticamente alla santità: "Ti
amavo di più quand'ero giovane".
Grazie perché non demordi. E di fronte alla quotidiana
tua chiamata, rispondo con tante suppliche. Non
permettere che le mie labbra siano "incirconcise" come
quelle di Mosè, né abbia come lui a dirti: "Manda mio
fratello Aronne".
Non permettere che fugga in direzione opposta a quella
da te indicata: se vuoi che vada a Ninive, non fare di me
un altro Giona. Non permettere che accampi scuse come
Geremia, per scuotere dalle spalle il mantello profetico.
Ma anche a me, come al veggente di Anatot, infiamma le
vene con un divorante amore.
Anche a me, come al giovane Isaia, purifica le labbra con
un carbone ardente, rendendomi capace di rispondere
alla tua chiamata: "Ecco, io sono qui, manda me!". Con
fede e umiltà potrò testimoniare e annunciare la Parola.
Non ti chiedo particolari visioni profetiche, ma solo la
forza di non stancarmi mai di ripetere a chi incontro:
prova e gusta come è buono il Signore, sta attaccato a
Lui, lasciati sedurre da quell'Amore che dà un senso alla
vita e rende interessante anche la morte.

TERCER DOMINGO DE PASCUA
TOMADO DE LA PALABRA ENTRE NOSOTROS:
Hasta el momento , Pedro se había Ganado la
vida como pescador saca del agua lo que no ha
cultivado. En cambio , el pastor se interesa
especialmente por los corderos mas pequeños y
débiles. El future del rebaño
depende del
crecimiento de estos corderos , así que el pastor se preocupa de que se alimenten bien y los
protégé de los animales feroces.
Lo que Jesús le dijo a Pedro también puede
aplicarse a la misión que recibimos todos los
cristianos de ser testigos del Evangelio. Jesús
sabe muy bien que hay en el mundo una inmensa cantidad de gente solitaria, enferma y marginada. Tales personas sufren de un enorme vacío y hambre espiritual , que sólo puede ser saciado por Cristo. De modo que era necesario
que Pedro adoptara su nuevo oficio de
“Pescador de
Hombres” y “ Pastor de las
Ovejas” de Jesús, una nueva misión que tanto
él como sus
sucesores han cumplido a
través de los siglos: “ Apacienta mis ovejas”
Muchos son los que buscan el sentido de la vida
en un mundo lleno de angustia y frustración;
son como los corderos que necesitan ser
alimentados. El Buen Pastor
quiere
que
nosotros les demos a conocer la Buena nueva.
No hace falta tener una gran educación,
riquezas , elocuencia o influencia para compartir
el Evangelio. Lo importante es ser compasivos y
amar de Corazón a Dios y al projimo.
Acerquémonos , pues a Cristo para que él nos
colme de su amor. Este es el propósito de
nuestra vida aquí en la tierra. Cuando Jesús nos
pregunta si lo amamos, lo hace no para
condenarnos, sino para hacernos ver lo
imperfecto que suele ser el amor humano y para
invitarnos a dejar que su amor nos transforme , y
así lleguemos a amarlo más. Por el hecho de
habernos amado primero, ahora nosotros
podemos recibir su amor y sentirnos impulsados
a corresponderlo de todo Corazón.

Where: St. Simon and Jude Parish
Special Guest: ValLimar Jansen
Reminder for this great day of faith and fun which
your child is required to attend as part of their confirmation preparation.
The Deanery Youth Day is sponsored by your Pastor,
and the Religious Education Program. The day will include music, storytelling, inspiration and an encouraging message, ending with a
youth celebration of the Holy Mass. Transportation will be provided by Nikki Milo and
Saint Athanasius and please look for more specific details about this day. Bus pick up

We encourage you to talk about the readings & reflection
question in the car on the way home from Mass, at dinner
on Sunday, or at parish meetings. Faith sharing opens the
door for us to meet, know & walk with Christ in our everyday lives.

Rosary Society
The Rosarians welcome all women of the Parish. The Society is dedicated to the Blessed Mother, the growth of the
love of God through Mary. We honor the Blessed Mother by
the constant and reverent praying of the rosary in our daily
life.
We are involved in all Parish activities, liturgical and social –
and keep informed about civic community activities.
Spiritual activities include an Annual Retreat, Annual Communion Breakfast and Baby Shower for Unwed Mothers.
The Society raises money to help our Church continue outreach efforts. The fundraisers include: Christmas Fair, Basket Night, Chinese Auction.
We attend the 10:00am Mass on the Third Sunday of the
month (except July & August) followed by a meeting & light
breakfast in the School.

Holy Name Society
New members are welcome to help with our community
service work. The Society is a spiritual organization, a
fraternity of the Catholic Church, spreading devotion to
the Name of Jesus. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow!
The present Holy Name Society members dedicate themselves to corporal works in helping our Parish Organizations and School, with various fundraising. The Holy
Name meets every second Sunday of each month (after
the 10 a.m. Mass), except for July & August.
Men of all ages are welcome, especially the fathers of
children attending St. A’s School and Catholic War Veterans are cordially invited to attend. For more info call:

Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship of men and
women who share their experience, strength and hope
with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a gambling problem.

Overeaters Anonymous members talk about their
struggles with compulsive eating. Meeting every
Wednesday night at 8:00p.m. in the Nazareth Institute.
