Disediakan: Wan Ahmad Khusairi Bin Wan Chek
Physics is fun!
What is physics? As we know, physics involve
quantitative measurement and are based on observation.
Physics is a very important subject that forms the basis
for a student who is interested to learn and get involved
in the engineering, medicine and manufacturing industry.
In short, students must pass with distinction in physics
at the school level if they have the desire to pursue at
the university level. However, various studies have been
made and it has shown that students often have problems
in understanding this field. Normally, students often put
the perception that physics is a subject that is difficult to
understand. There are a few students who compare physics
with mathematics whereas they think mathematics is easier
to learn. This is because mathematics involves formula but
physics requires students to understand the concepts and
theories of a topic. After understanding the needs of the
questions, the student can solve problems using formulas
and calculations. To solve a problem, students must be
smart in thinking critically and for some students, this is
one of the obstacles for them.
Most students do not have proper analytical skill.
Some of the problems are students do not understand
the concept and there are also students who are unable
to capture the purpose of the questions. They failed to
interpret and translate the questions and this will cause the
student to take a long time to complete the assignment.
Thus, students become bored quickly, whereas if learned
well, it’s a fun subject. Physics is closely related to our
daily lives and nature. For example, the question of why
and how things happen can be answered by using the
concepts of physics.
From my observations, there are three levels of
student achievement. The three levels are weak, average
and excellent. As educators, our responsibilities are to
make students who are weak to moderate and to become
a top student. Consequently, students need to focus
in the class and they also need to constantly interact,
provide feedback to teachers as well as to cultivate
interest in the subject. After returning home, students
need to revise the topics taught in class. This makes it
easier for students to detect a poorly understood topic
and the student can ask the teacher immediately.
In addition, redha and sincerity are the pillars of
success. As Muslims, we should be pleased with all of the
specified conditions. Students must also have integrity
and a high level of patience. Everything we do require
sacrifice and patience. For example, mango trees take
about six months to produce ripe fruit even though they
are watered daily and fertilized with the best fertilizer.
It is similar to success because success will not come
quickly, but requires continuous effort and patience.

Ibnu al-Qayum al-Jauziah mengatakan terdapat sembilan bentuk pembaziran yang sering
dilakukan manusia antaranya:
1.

Effective Classroom Management
Teachers always have difficulties in controlling their students’ behaviour during
lessons in class. Unfortunately, a teacher has to handle 30 students or more find it
hard to monitor all the students simultaneously because they only have one hand in
managing the students. Therefore, the classroom management tactics has been introduced to
overcome the problems face by the teachers. First of all, what does it mean by effective
classroom management? Effective classroom management is inextricably tied to the quality
of educational experiences by students as well as teacher’s masterpiece. The teacher’s
skills in organizing the class structure is engaged to the effective classroom management
which is facilitate efficient learning. The teacher must be able to orchestrate the
learning environment in order to enhance competence of all students that is clearly
related to students’ behaviour (Larrivee, 1992). According to Wikipedia, the electronic
encyclopaedia, the classroom management is actually a term used by teachers that is
basically to make sure that the lessons will run smoothly in the class even though there are
some mischievous or any inappropriate actions from the students. It is also a prevention
method in purpose to avoid students from continuously doing disruptive behaviours during
classroom lessons. Hence, there are many effective classroom management strategies that
are applicable in class which are; fairness, time-management and rules.
Firstly, fairness is one of the essential values in our life including life in
the class. This is the reason why fairness is one of the keys to the effective classroom
management. Fairness in class means to be able to treat all the students equally
regardless their previous achievements, where do they come from, and even their races.
Furthermore, teachers will also earn respect from the students if they can treat all the
students without having any judgemental and fully fairness to all of them. If a teacher
do not treat the students equally or only paying attention as well as keep praising the
excellent students, the other students will think that the teacher had neglected them
and being unfair towards them. This will make them ignore what the teacher had told
them to do and behave on their own way [Melissa Kelly, About.com Guide]. For example,
punishment must be done fairly based on the mistakes that they have committed regardless
their status. This kind of action shows the fairness of teachers in judging all students
in classes.
Secondly, proper time-management will be one of the methods in order to have an
effective classroom management. Usually, classroom lessons will be run in 100 minutes for
every subject. Teachers must wisely manage the time given to them to teach in a class.
Therefore, before starting a lesson, teachers must organize very well the activities that
they wanted to do during the class. Teachers are advised not to use the whole period only
to give lecture and should divide the time in the class to give the space for the students
to do their hands-on activities [Kellie Hayden]. By giving lectures for an entire of the
lesson’s period will lead the students loss their attention and start to making noise
or any other disruptive behaviour. So, the teachers must divide the time in the class
smartly so that they will not lose the students’ attention. For instance, at the first
70 minutes, teachers will deliver their lectures while the rest of the 30 minutes will
be used by students to discuss their group works or projects with their fellow group
members. This will make the classroom management works effectively during classes.
3
In conclusion, the effective classroom management strategies will help teachers
monitor their students in class and help the classroom lessons run smoothly. The classroom
management strategies provide tactics or method in order to help the teachers to pass on
the disruptive behaviour by various kinds of students during the lecture or in a class. One
of the key to the effective classroom management is the fairness where the teachers should
treat all of their students equally. They should not be biased towards their students and
judge all the students fairly. This will help them to gain more respect from the students.
Moreover, the teachers must manage the time in the class properly. Give the lecture to
the students and do some activities that can catch their attention. Students will find
that there are some enjoyment in lessons and tend to focus more in the class. In addition,
create a set of class rules so that the students will be more discipline in the class. The
suitable punishment for those who act against the rules will make the students less doing
something that can make the class in a chaos. Thus, the strategies given above will make
the classroom management more effective and students are in the power of the teachers to
create a better generation for a better future.

Long Term Evolution
Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the 4th generation cellular mobile system that is being deployed and specified in 3GPP as a
successor of Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) technologies. Work on LTE began since 2004, with an official
LTE work item started in 2006 and a completed 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 8 specification in March 2009.
Initial deployments of LTE began in late 2009. Mobile operators in Germany and the Nordic countries are among the leading pack
in deployment of LTE services. However in Malaysia, the LTE technology is new and still in testing stage by the mobile operator
with the LTE vendors.
Figure 1 3GPP Technology Evolution
LTE will bring many technical benefits to cellular networks. The main cores of the design behind LTE are higher user bit
rates, lower delays, increased spectrum efficiency, reduced cost, to increase the capability and rate for wireless data network and
operational simplicity. LTE is a 3GPP standard that expected to provide an uplink speed of up to 50Mbps and a downlink speed
of up to 100 Mbps. LTE is a wireless broadband technology designed to support roaming Internet access via cell phones and
handheld devices. LTE operates in all IP-based and improve the system capacity, coverage and reduced cost for operator by having
simple architecture. Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) antennas technology and flexible bandwidth are selection to achieve
the optimum performance in scheduling strategies.
Thirdly, in having an effective classroom management, teachers must make a set
of class rules so that the students will behave in a way that the teachers want [Laura
Candler]. When the class rules had been made, students will try to obey all the classes’
rules to prevent their selves from being punished by the teachers if they act against
the rules. This is also helps to show that the teacher is serious in controlling the
behaviour of the students as well shows the firm side of the teacher even though he or
she is a teacher who have a very good sense of humour. Along with the class rules,
there must have suitable punishments for every single rule that had been broke up by the
students or attempt to break it. As an example, a student should come early to the class
before the teacher come or start the lesson. If the student failed to do so, then he or
she must be punished to stand outside of the class for couple of minutes or any other
appropriate punishments. Therefore, the student will avoid from coming late to class and
will be in the class on the time or even arrive to the class earlier.

With all the capabilities of LTE, it shows that how people around the world are demanding for new technology to
make work easier, efficient and makes the world a better place to live in .In order to meet user demanding and expectations
in a 5 to 10-year perspective and beyond, an evolution of the current technology 3G/4G are needed. So are you ready for
the next evolution?
