iSaver iSaver installation view at The Israeli Center for Digital Art, Holon, Israel, 2011 Video projection (4 minutes) and cards distribution station "The economy of entire communities and countries is dependent on public corporations which do what they want with their capital. The smoke screen they put up is called advertising and public relations, donations and charity organizations. In her critical parody, Talia Link unfurls her own colorful smoke screen: an advertising campaign and PR rhetoric dedicated to one of the strongest women in Israeli economy: Shari Arison." Gilad Melzer, 2011 iSaver Stills Video-animation, 4 minutes, Full HD, 2011 In the video iSaver, I address Shari Arison the wealthiest woman in the middle east and offer her a digital amulet as a gift. In Israel Shari Arison is renowned not only for her overwhelming influence on Israeli economy, but also because of her spiritual agenda: she established an organization whose aim is to generate spiritual awareness and has made business decisions based on messages and visions. Despite the copious resources she had devoted to philanthropic activity, over the years she has been subjected to harsh criticism of her conduct. Therefore, as a gift to her I have decided to create the iSaver a digital amulet that will protect her image. The work employs a strategy typical of Arison and her public relations mechanism: the messages and aesthetics are saccharine new-age clichés, the texts are quotes of Arison herself. Download iSaver.
