Attention families of Class of 2017 seniors! Below is some important information related to the senior section of the yearbook. Senior Portraits: If your student hasn’t already scheduled his/her senior pictures, please schedule a portrait appointment at Prestige Portraits by Lifetouch. Senior picture appointments take place at DGS during the summer. The senior portrait ​

Pre­Ordering a Yearbook for your Senior Student: Your student’s high school career may be nearing an end, but the memories from high school last a lifetime! Help your student preserve these memories by pre­ordering a yearbook for him or her. It’s recommended that you order a yearbook on fee payment day as the cost of the yearbook increases later in the year and pre­ordering makes picking up the book easier at the year’s end. *​
Please note that payment for anything yearbook­related may be made in cash or by check payable to Downers Grove South High School. Senior Baby Picture Submission: This year ​
all baby photos will need to be submitted digitally​
. Hard copies will not be accepted. Baby photos can be emailed to ​

Photo files should be saved as the student’s full first and last name​

and the email subject line should read “Senior baby picture of [student’s name].”​

This year, there will be no cost for baby photos. The last day to submit Senior baby photos will be October 31st. ​
Senior baby picture space is limited, so photos will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Senior Recognition Ad Information: This is a special time in your senior student’s life, and you can make it even more special by commemorating it with a senior recognition ad to be published in the 2016­2017 DGS yearbook! ​

Last day to create is 10/31 Do you only have hard copies of photos? Need Access to a Scanner? You will need to scan your hard copy photos to make them digital. If you do not have access to a scanner you have several options: ● Your student can scan photos with the help of a librarian in the DGS Library ● There are a variety of scanning applications available for smartphones such as Genius Scan and CamsSanner ● Your local drug or general merchandise stores with photo departments also have scanning capabilities Create a custom ad for your student’s yearbook.
Senior ads are a great way to celebrate the
successes of your graduate. The early
deadline to complete your ad is 9/30/16.
From 10/1 to 10/31, ad prices are higher. To

TIPS for creating your best ad
• Your photos will look and fit better if your photo is
the same orientation as the picture box. (Horizontal
vs vertical orientation.)
• Use clear, high-resolution photos. If your photo is
blurry, it will be blurry in your ad.

SCHOOL GUIDELINES
Our school reserves the right to edit ads per our
guidelines. Please make sure all submitted materials
are appropriate for school publication.
• Create the ad around your student and write a
personal message that will be meaningful.
• Use the cropping tools on the website to crop out
unnecessary background and focus on your student.
