CENTRAL COQUITLAM Community Profile C E N S U S AT A G L A N C E CENTRAL COQUITLAM 2001 Neighbourhood Census Profiles Central Coquitlam The Census is conducted once every five years by Statistics Canada to develop a national statistical portrait. The most recent survey was held on May 15, 2001. The City of Coquitlam Planning and Development Department has compiled data from several key census topics to provide a detailed overview for each of Coquitlam’s 12 residential communities. Specific census topics have been organized under the categories of People, Households and Dwellings. The analysis includes a comparison between the data for each community and the data for the entire city. People: This section explores population change, population by age, marital status, ethnic origin, home language and level of education. Neighbourhood Population: 15,400 Gross Area: 932.8 HA Households: This section looks specifically at household income, household type, family type, and number of children to provide an understanding of the overall household composition for each area of Coquitlam. Dwellings: The physical composition of the built environment is explored by examining dwellings by structural type, tenure (proportion of rented and owned accommodation), and by the age of housing stock.
