A4246976 Marlene is a well-behaved, calm two year old black and fawn female German Shepherd/ Rottweiler mix who was forsaken at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on December 4th after her former owner moved and made no provision for his dog. Weighing forty-seven pounds, Marlene walks well on leash and didn’t bark the entire time we had her out. She is a sweet girl who wants to play with people and other dogs, and we think she is an excellent match for older children. She is also quite cuddly and thinks she is a lap dog. A4508117 Mika is a princess - a two year old brown spayed female Chihuahua who was found in La Puente on November 5th and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. Weighing eight pounds, Mika is a lapdog who wants to be carried and snuggled. She is fine with small dogs but frightened of big dogs, and we think she will be fine with children over the age of twelve. Mika is a calm lapdog who was born to be pampered, and she will be a sensational indoor pet for an adult household in an apartment or condo. A4511528 Maya is a delightful three year old white and gray spayed female Pit Bull who was found in West Covina on November 14th and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. Weighing fifty-four pounds, Maya walks nicely on leash and seems to have been an indoor dog. She gets along with other dogs with her same energy level and we think she would adore children, she should not be around cats. Maya scored an A+ on her temp test; she loves to play ball and she thinks she is a lapdog. Maya will be the perfect indoor pet for an active individual or family living in a private home. A4512698 Chief is a stable, good-natured seven year old brown neutered male Lhasa Apso who was dumped at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on November 16th because his former owners could not afford medical care for his injured eye, which was removed at the shelter. Weighing fourteen pounds, Chief walks well on leash and is docile, cooperative and eager to please. He likes other dogs, and we think he will get along beautifully with children. Chief has a “solid as a rock” personality and a fluffy white coat and will be a wonderful indoor pet for anyone in any living situation at all. A4513195 Sugar Pie is an awesome five year old black and white female Pit Bull who was found in South El Monte on November 19th and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. Weighing forty pounds, this well behaved dog pulls just a tiny bit on leash, but is well socialized and quite considerate. She has passed her shelter given temperament test with flying colors. Perfect with children, she gets along well with other dogs when properly introduced. Sugar will make a sensational indoor pet and companion for a family living in a private home. A4513234 Kobie is a perky eleven month old brown neutered male shorthaired Chihuahua puppy who was found in Baldwin Park and brought to the shelter on November 19th. Weighing six pounds, Kobie is a natural born lapdog who prefers being carried to walking on leash. He is good with other dogs and we think he would be good with children who were old enough to respect his tiny size and handle him gently. Kobie is alert, affectionate and adorable and will be a wonderful indoor pet for an adult household (or one with older children) in an apartment or condo. A4513330 Chance is a cheerful six month old buff and white neutered male Pit Bull/Weimariner mix puppy who was found in El Monte with his sister Buttercup (A4513336) and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on November 19th. Weighing fifty-five pounds, Chance is cooperative and focused and sits for treats. He is very playful with other dogs, and was delighted to meet a visiting child. He got straight “A”s on his shelter administered temperament test and we don’t understand why he is still at the shelter. A4513336 Buttercup is a cooperative six month old buff and white female Pit Bull/Weimaraner mix puppy who was found in El Monte and bought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on November 19th. Weighing thirty-eight pounds, Buttercup is a quick learner (she learned to "sit" in just a few minutes) and will be easy to train. She wants to play with other dogs, and we think she would adore children. Buttercup loves to be cuddled and will be a fantastic indoor pet for an active individual or family living in a private home. Weighing thirteen pounds, Pepperoni is ready for training. Good with other dogs, we think he will like cats; he is affectionate with people and we think he would be good with children. Pepperoni has an exceptionally soft, caramel-colored coat and a medium energy level. Weighing eight pounds, Bonnie was a good sport and very easy to work with. The perfect way to celebrate Christmas would be to give her a warm, safe home in which to give birth to her puppies. Weighing twenty pounds, Poncho could use additional training to brush up on his leash skills; we do think he is housebroken. He adores other dogs of all sizes and is very playful, and we think he is ideal for children. Poncho is kissy and affectionate and will be a delightful indoor pet for an active individual or family in any living situation. Weighing fourteen pounds, Boo-Boo understands the concept of “leash” but will benefit from additional training, which should be easy as he is both intelligent and eager to please. He has a particularly endearing habit of grasping your arm with both front paws when you are holding him. Boo-Boo particularly loves interacting with other dogs and would be a fabulous. Weighing eight pounds, Wolfie walks well on leash, cooperated when we clipped his nails, and was calm, quiet and well-behaved overall. He is good with dogs, we think he’ll be good with kids and he may be cat-friendly. He has exceptionally good manners - someone spent a great deal of time socializing him. Wolfie will be the perfect indoor pet for anyone in any living situation, and his no-fuss attitude makes him ideal for a first-time dog owner or a senior. A4518063 Venus is the life of the party - a one year old white spayed female purebred West Highland Terrier puppy who was found in Altadena on December 1st and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. Weighing fourteen pounds, Venus will be quick to learn her commands. She is great with people and with other dogs and we think she will get along well with children. She is also spectacularly beautiful, with a silky soft coat and a lovely face. Venus will be the perfect indoor pet for whoever is lucky enough to grab her! Weighing a chubby twenty-two pounds, Daisy walks perfectly on leash, sits on command and is cooperative and beautifully trained overall. She likes other dogs, is always happy to meet new people and we think she would be wonderful with children. Daisy has the perfect energy level - playful and active - and will be an exceptional indoor pet for anyone in any living situation; she would be a good match for a senior. Weighing twenty-one pounds, he walks okay on leash and probably has lived indoors. Initially shy when he meets new people, Tyler warms up and becomes the ultimate lapdog. We think he will be good with children and he has been good with other dogs. Tyler is going to be an empathetic and affectionate companion who will be a delightful indoor pet for anyone in any living situation - and we think due to his mellow nature he will be an ideal pet for a senior citizen. Effusively friendly, we think he will be fantastic with kids and he is good with other dogs. Patches passed his shelter temperament test with flying colors. Weighing eight pounds, this sweetheart doesn’t have any leash skills yet, and would far rather be carried. Jolene is quite shy in the shelter environment and would prefer to be invisible as she just is overwhelmed. However once you get her out of her kennel into a calm place she becomes the perfect lapdog and you can see she has the classic Chihuahua personality - of wanting to have one person to love and bond with. A4520063 Audrey is an elegant two year old female Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix who was found in West Covina on December 6th and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. Weighing eleven pounds, Audrey walks well on leash and is probably housebroken. Initially timid, she warms up quickly and gives kisses and cuddles; she is friendly with other dogs and we think she would be fine with older, gentle children. Audrey will be the ideal indoor pet for anyone in any living situation whatsoever, and would be a perfect companion for someone who works from home. Weighing one hundred five pounds, this well socialized boy walks okay on leash and knows how to sit on command. He adores his brother Boris, and we think he is good with other dogs as well and we think he will be good with larger children, the only reason we do not give him an endorsement to be around little children is based on his size - not on his personality! Weighing one hundred fifteen pounds, he walks incredibly well on leash, knows how to “sit” on command and is well socialized. Bonded with his brother Haas, we think Boris will be good with other dogs as well and we think he will be good with larger children, the only reason we do not give him an endorsement to be around little children is based on his size - not on his personality! A4520798 Monica is a timid one year old brown and tan female Chihuahua puppy who was found in La Puente on December 7th and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. Weighing nine pounds, Monica insisted on being carried as she was too frightened to walk on leash. She is a calm, docile puppy who appeared fine with the other dogs we introduced her to; we think she should be in an adult home because she is quite tentative. A4520919 Twinkie is submissive seven year old black and white spayed female teacup Chihuahua who was found as a stray and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on December 8th. Weighing just five pounds, We don’t know how Twinkie is on leash because she insisted on being carried - after all, she is a lapdog at just five pounds. Twinkie was ganged up on by her kennel mates, and we don’t know how she is with other dogs; we think she would be happiest in an adult household or one with older children. Sweet, cooperative, willing and affectionate, this is an easycare companion. Twinkie will be the perfect indoor pet for an adult household in an apartment or condo, and is made to order for someone looking for a portable companion. She was adopted on December 22nd but returned to the shelter on December 30th because she was too playful. Weighing forty-two pounds, Sarah walks well on leash and has a medium energy level. Friendly and affectionate, we think she will be good with other dogs and with children. Sarah is absolutely gorgeous, with hypnotic ice-blue eyes and a lush coat. Weighing fifty-nine pounds, Kain is well-trained and undoubtedly housebroken - he sits on command, shakes hands, is good on leash and is consistently attentive to his handler. He is friendly with other dogs and wellsocialized. He is gorgeous, affectionate, intelligent and cheerful - overall a perfect dog. A4522438 Tyson is a staff and volunteer favorite - a three month old brown and white longhaired Dachshund mix puppy who was found in La Puente on December 12th and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. Weighing seven pounds, Tyson is a classic puppy - adorable, cuddly and ready for training. He is friendly towards all creatures, and we think he would be a wonderful playmate for kids. She was fostered and bottle-fed with Inky (A4480310) by one of our volunteers who tells us that Patches was from a feral litter, but when you pick her up she is quite friendly. She likes other cats, especially Inky, and is quite content to curl up in your lap and sleep. Patches will make an excellent pet for an adult family or a family with calm children. 79. 80. 81.
